I installed Vista (from within XP) over the network. I just mounted the shared DVD drive as a network drive, and launched the installation from there. This seems to work well, as long as you don't want to change your partions.

Assuming both computers are on the same home network it is really easy to do. First, put the CD in the CD drive of your computer, then right click on the drive and change the sharing properties to allow sharing over the network. Give the drive an easy to remember sharing name. I can't figure it out either. At first I thought the middle swivel piece where the screen attaches to the base had some potential, but the little plastic piece of the tether gets in the way of it closing/converting to tablet mode.

Please post and answer if you figure it out.

Can you tell if they are bootable before you buy? If a drive is bootable on one computer, will it be bootable on all?
