If in doubt, post the link here, and someone might be able to confirm whether it's the correct type for your laptop.

Re: PaleMoon browser problems

I gave up on Firefox also, because their AdblockPlus (or any other addon for that matter) does not let you hide elements (like images and text blocks in a webpage-header) permanently, the way PaleMoon's Adblock Latitude could. I have now switched over to Waterfox , where I managed to install said A...

Re: T430 Trackpoint Cap Soft Rim?

Any buying advice? Seems the Soft Rim has been discontinued by Lenovo. Make sure you get a cap that matches the height and opening dimensions of your cap. In recent years (after T430) Lenovo has changed the design of these multiple times. Are third party manufactured caps any good? They seem to be ...

Welcome to the forum.

Try disconnecting the trackpad from the system board and see if it makes trackpoint come to life (happens sometimes if trackpad is the faulty one).

As this seemed to ne not trivial procedure I wanted to know if there is an easier solution at the moment. Re: Batteries for the T60 and T61 series, types and availability

a few weeks ago I discovered a seller on ebay which , among 6 cells and 9 cells batteries for T60/T61, also offered 12 cell batteries, I took a chance and bought one, it arrived today and I must say, ITS THE REAL DEAL, its not a panasonic from 2006-2008, its just a sanyo from 2017, but its good, it...

Re: X230 unsupported Battery

Welcome to the forum. You have two options. Return the battery and get one that is properly compatible with X230. Flash the Embedded Controller (EC) with a special patch that disables the battery chip check, and allows any X220-compatible battery to charge in the machine. I don't have the link to th...

Re: X1 8th Gen Died (bootloop at bios level) after windows 10 forced update

I've never heard of that either, unless now, with Win 10 they have system updates from manufacturers. Oh, I know for sure that Windows 10 is able to download and install BIOS updates. However I have never heard of them doing it forcefully , like they do with "Critical/High Priority" Windows updates.

Trying to repair my old t42, display stays blank when turning on. Probably the gpu issue.
I wouldn't jump to this conclusion so fast. It can just as likely be a display/inverter/fuse problem.

Re: L510 2873A16 Cpu Upgrade

Yes, L410 and L510 use only Core 2 Duo (and contemporary Celeron/Pentium) CPUs. The i3/i5/i7 generation only made it into the L412/L512 refresh. I think the chassis is the same (don't take my word for it, though), but you'd have to swap system boards if you want to upgrade to that generation. Otherw...

I figured it out. Instead of using the NUSB 2.0 driver, I am using an A-DATA Windows 98 2.0 USB driver. While it does not support the "Intel 82801DB(ICH4) USB2.0 Enhanced Host Controller -24CD" (leaving a PCI Universal Serial Bus as an other device with a yellow question mark), the USB ports work w...

Now you are using more correct terminology. I can tell you from first hand knowledge that Intel is very serious about the security of ME and patching flaws that are found, even several generations back. This does not make it 100% safe, of course, but it is as close to 100% as you can get if you don'...

If Slimjet would let us move the tabs below the URL as well, I'd change to it in a heartbeat, but so far they have steadfastly refused that, in spite of numerous requests. I found a way to get the tabs below the URL in Firefox, so I'll be good for now. Once Slimjet comes around also, I'll switch to...

Just a side note: R51e, although being a 533MHz FSB Centrino ThinkPad, is not suffering from HDD error 2010 when using non-IBM's hard drive, is it? I agree with you. That error was due to a SATA-PATA bridge that IBM used on its Intel ICH6-M laptops to connect an IDE(PATA) drive to a SATA port on th...

Yeah, well, I now recall that I experienced similar crap with the built-in CF slot on my X32, and that one was running WinXP, no less. So what can you expect from 98SE, eh? But I think that with 98SE you may actually stand a chance, because it allows you to set resources manually, sometimes. You can...
