What about this one: auction ID = 263979001317, endson the 25th of October.
Yep, found it once I switched my location to 'Germany'. I guess that by default eBay (or at least ebay.de) only shows you listings that ship to your location.

I don't recall there being any limits to USB flash drive size, short of what each filesystem supports. And yes, you can boot from them.

[snip] Have you checked the condition of/renewed the CPU Thermal paste lately?? [snip] Well, how do you "check the condition" of the thermal paste, short of disassembling the machine and removing the heatsink? At that point you are already doing the work on which I remarked that I find it, in most ...

Re: T430 adapter from SATAIII to SATAe, PCIe or M.2 to get better bandwith out of drives?

My understanding is that this adapter works because the T460p/T470p actually have PCIe lanes in that connector. The SATA3 connector in the T430 does not have such lanes, so you're looking at a board modification to see if you can hijack some of these extra chipset lanes you mentioned. One has to con...

Re: size limit for SD card in z61t?

This comes back as a Texas Instruments PCIxx12 card reader. From what I found out, looks like it supports SDHC (up to 32GB), and you can get it to work under XP by installing a hotfix AND a driver from TI: https://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/fix-for-ti-integrated-flashmedia-reader-to-work-with-s...

That in itself is a problem. The built-in XP driver for SD cards definitely does not support SDXC.

What are the hardware IDs of the card reader? (check the details tab in the device manager)

Re: T430 shut down problem

Have you checked the condition of/ renewed the CPU Thermal paste lately?? All systems that are "new to me" have the thermal paste renewed as a matter of policy. It is a policy that has served me well over time. That's a rather wasteful policy (in terms of the effort), although it may save some hass...

The 15" 4:3 R61 was only available with Intel graphics. That's where 15" 4:3 T601 can shine. You are right, of course; however, at this point I don't care about graphics performance on a machine that's more than 10 years old. :) That's just me; I totally accept the fact that some folks may have wor...

Yes, docking station compatibility problems are not as uncommon as one would think. These are more than simple passthrough devices. Are you using the DP/HDMI for video and audio output, or video only (with the audio going through the analog connection)? I would still investigate if there is anything...

German ebay + local offers/announcements. One can find R61/R61i relatively easy. Actually, the same type (8943), but another letters at the end. It doesn't matter. As long as it's the 15" 4:3 (894x-xxx) type. Where do you find a...

Re: Decision: T60p UXGA vs. X61s

What I decided - I will try to upgrade CPU to T7600 and to renew the cooler - sometimes it's too loud. A T2700->T7600 upgrade is hardly worth the cost. You will probably feel nothing (unless you really must have 64-bit). Although the CPUs are not as pricey as they used to be, they still command som...

A W520 is an HDMI-capable notebook, since it has DisplayPort++ which can output native HDMI via a passive adapter.

Re: Decision: T60p UXGA vs. X61s

Why should I modify T60p and build "Frankenpad" instead of buying real T61 or T61p? Because a Frankenpad allows you to keep your 15" 4:3 IPS screen, which you could never get in actual T61/p units. Plus you get to keep a good-looking machine (T60) rather than one that looks like its chassis was des...

If you use the machines docked, with external peripherals most of the time, then issues like mobility, size, weight, battery life, internal display quality may be irrelevant. With that said: X61 can only output to a single external display, VGA only; T60p allows you to have two external displays (DV...

The quality and consistency differences between the generally excellent Windows kernel core and the generally "so-so" UI has been there, seemingly since the earliest NT builds. It's worrisome if the discrepancy is getting worse instead of better.

The *30 series introduced new batteries with special chip to enable fast-charging. The *30 firmware will not charge a *20 battery (although it will run off it).

The same EC mod that allows a classic keyboard to be used can also be utilized to disable this check, and allow *20 batteries to be charged.

I doubt you represent a large enough customer base for them to care about. By now, I would bet there are more people out there that actively prefer the new UI, because this is what they are used to. Making a different UI isn't a one-time-thing, you have to constantly maintain it as well, which is an...

- Put a 125GB HD. Next step would be a SSD, but XP does not support SSD, you need a SSD with firmware to do "garbage collection." I think this is the 'trim' function in Win7. It's not like XP won't benefit greatly from an SSD. It would not be operating at peak efficiency without garbage collection,...

Ok, for Mini HDMI to DVI, depending on what you are doing there is something called HDCP which is an encrypted video signal. According to this, the pronunciation of β was changed from sounding like an English 'B' in Ancient Greek to sounding like English 'V' in Modern Greek. Thus we established that there is at least one historical process which is unrelated to the Western civilization's gallop towards suicide.
