How many Thinkpads do you own?

Well I currently own 5. 1st: t42 with 15" flexview, 98% new, pretty much just opened box made sure it works and put it in storage. That is my first collection. 2nd: this t60 with 14" I am typing on. Use it daily and bring it to work so I don't have to touch Macbooks. 3rd: a T42 bough off ebay. Tried...

thank you. i actually like lenovo as a company and i think they do good work. the reason why i want the old logo is that i think they give the laptop a more personality instead of the thinkpad logo which i think is a little cramped together. i never liked the windows or rest of the stickers. my t60 ...

t60 palm rest replacement

i tried to get those ati and intel label off my palm rest this morning, and accidentally scuff the palm rest. it now looks like irritating like a pimple.

i see that ibm sells replacement for 115 bucks. does this come with the old school ibm logo or the new thinkpad logo?

Re: Firewire a Security Risk?

How is firewire any more of a security risk than USB, RS232, parallel ports, etc.? I too, am curious about the answer to this question and the reason for the extra concern. I usually just disable them if i don't use 'em anyway. firewire have a built in backdoor and if you the software to take advan...

nvidias are usually faster in terms of performance.
and regarding drivers, well, i am a little conservative, i believe that stuff like drivers should be done directly in c++ instead of on top of another framwork.

P.S. -- o1001010 is completely incorrect in all his points. The 9600 in the T42 is NOT faster than the FireGL T2 in the T42p. Do some research and you will find that they are the EXACT SAME SILICON; the difference is in the PCI product ID and the drivers. You can mod Radeon drivers to run on the T2...

i have no idea if this will work or not but i heard about it.

in front of your pc, install a larger fan than the one behind. that way the atx tower is slightly pressured, it will be a little hard to build up dust.

Don't be misled by those unethical eBay sellers such as Thinkpadworld . "Factory sealed" is NOT new. Instead, they are used laptops, many of which are quite beat up. They put the used laptop in a box and sealed the package in a factory -- that's all. The one I want to get comes from ibmfactoryoutle...
