Go with XxX 10.4.11 Rev 2. Best install I've ever had on my T42: everything works out of the box except for spotlight crashing (disabled it) and not being able to boot on battery (working on it). The hardware support surprised me.

I'm using it now with speedstep on my SSE2 and it's great.

Should I take out the upgrades if they arent factor? Or the Port Replicator II?

It flickers and turns so low that I can see that it is on but extremely low brightness (much lower than the lowest brightness). using a t42 and i haven't been able to update the bios since i got it (almost a year ago). Everytime i try i get a blue error screen with a lot of text saying something about incorrect irq.

i do everything as stated, full battery, no dock, connected to ac.

get the macbook man. if you want mac, get it. put on bootcamp, install windows.

PERFECT setup for anyone who likes mac but still needs windows.

i always have rainlender, styler, utorrent and firefox going. i almost always have a movie playing too.

with 1gig of ram i wont have to worry about slow downs and firefox taking 30 seconds to load.
