very easy to understand that LCD 4:3 producer will discontinue 4:3 products, lenovo do not produce them so they cannot offer 4:3 lcd on their laptop excepting they can make 4:3 LCD themself .

you cannot order a t61p with 14.1 SXGA+ on lenovo's website , i suppose that they will introduce W-series with 14.1wide 1440x900 in the near future.

oh yes, lenovo will be one of the last manufacturers discontinuing 4:3 LCD.

ok, today i borrow a 14.1 t61p from my friend, i am disappointed about it so cheap plastic and quality of t61p's screen. i cannot believe it is worse than t60p i have one year ago !

many thanks for responding, but i can understand that lenovo may be replace some good materials with worse materials. for ex , t41 used titanlium to produce covers while t61p use cheap plastic and a worse LCD.

this is a trend of any laptop makers. you can easily recognize that toshiba, acer also discontinued 4:3 screen laptop

I heard some people said that lenovo will discontinue t61/t61p with 14.1 non-wide screen or 14.1 SXGA+ on them . This activity explain for cutting down demand of 14.1 non-wide panel from consumer and almost LCD laptop producers have the cutting plan for 14.1 non-wide screen.
