Same problem Is there anything else that could be wrong besides the motherboard? I'm desperate here, since it's not really worth finding a new one.

Just a quick update: I bought a new LCD cable, same problem. It was refurbished off eBay, but I'm gonna trust that it in fact works. So I ordered the next part down the line, a new sub-card. It was only 5 dollars, so I figured why not. If this doesn't work, am I screwed into replacing the mainboard?

Yeah while I was in there I unplugged and replugged that connection as well. Everything seems to be connected properly. I guess I'll just be surfing eBay for the right cable.

Alright, well I stripped it all down and built it back up, no loose cables, same problem. If the LCD cable is shot, I don't supposed I could just order a new one could I? IBM wouldn't make it that easy, would they?

I think the LCD may be dead, but it still lights up so I have a little hope. What's happening is when I boot up, the screen turns on (backlight comes on) and is greyish white, and nothing more. It flickers like it would when it boots, and it does boot just fine, (still outputs to a monitor just fine...
