In theory you can download updates from the Matrix, then point the software installer to the files locally. That is what I tried to do... and it did not work. I had to download all of them again with software installer. 45 Mb over a dial-up connection... was not a happy camper.

Some confusion exists for me since there are some directory trees from the old ThinkPad updater as well as the new Software Installer which I installed for the first time. I need to see if I can uninstall the old utility.

THHKMGR is running in the process list... but I do not see any way to activate hotkeys. I uninstalled and reinstalled the package which says it is good for W2K and the A22M.
