I replaced my 60g Hitachi drive with a Seagate 100g drive. All I can say I never haer the drive and it is fast as anything. There was a five dollar price differance between the 100g Hitachi and Seagate. But the plus for Seagate was FIVE year warrenty as apposed to Hitachi's three year. my two cents...

I have a T42P. So all I have to do is get a new palmrest with the FP sensor and software to get it to work? no. you need a T42 board which has support for the reader, not all of them did. Well, I have an update. I can say that it works quite well. After searching around, things are just peachy. As for being slow, NO WAY!!!!. This things zips along quite nicely. Mike, that does sound weird, have you tried the seagate site support faq's? I did check seagates website and no updates are available. I do not think it is the drive.
