Thank you very much for your post. I wondered why my new T400 got that hot even while not doing anything. After disabling this intel graphics thing it got much better.

Hi forum I just got a Thinkpad T60. It has a Mobility Radeon X1400 graphics engine. I noticed a short flicker (display off and on) if I start Mediaplayer. If you press FN-Space there is a little icon showing up in the tray. By clicking on it you can choose your resolution.
160% is 1024x768 in my case.

but replacing the hard drive is cheaper than replacing the cpu, so I would go for the faster cpu and replace the hdd if you're not happy with it.

I ordered my thinkpad in Germany together with a Swiss-German keyboard. The keyboard was 40,58 Euro (excl. tax) So any IBM dealer should be able to order a keyboard in your desired localisation.
