Yes, I did as I could not run Diskeeper lite in safe mode. It did revert to Windows defrag.

The only thing that I can think of is to try Windows System Restore, to restore to an earlier configuration. On the other hand, you always have the restore factory contents option................................... From experience, once CSS7 is installed, you cannot go back to an earlier version. (...

I have also found that the new Password Manager from CSS 7 not compatible with it's own Private Disk. It somehow incorrectly stores the log in information. What can one say? As of now, CSS 7 is nearly useless since it preforms far less than the previous version. Uninstalling is a terrible hassle so...

I had a similar problem -exacerbated by Microsoft only allowing a download of IE using IE! Load of use that was!
In the end I found a copy of XP SR2 on the net and (re-) installed that, which put IE back into the T43. (Its only use is for Windows updates; firefox otherwise.)
