Check your box in which the replacement part came. There should be return shipping instructions and label if they want it back. Another way to tell would be if they asked you for a charge card number. If the warranty part is to be returned, they will ask you for a card number to charge should you f...

Wow! That's crazy. I get to keep mine just because of one bad piece of tiny plastic? I was hoping they can just ship me the button piece, too. So now I can sell the palmrest, and people can easily just swap the button with theirs -- for those who are looking for a fingerprint-reader upgrade! I shoul...

Got a new palm rest under warranty -- what about mine?
Hi all, The left trackpad button (don't hate me for using the trackpad!) has been messed up for weeks. One of the clips that hold the metal rod underneath wasn't gripped, so if you press the left side of the left button, the rod pops out of the clip. You have to press the right side of the button to...

Just rip the palmrest off, mate -- only takes 2 minutes! The T60 is a bit different to the previous ones (the palmrest covers the buttons a bit) but yeah, the buttons are part of the keyboard. The issue is with the left touchpad button. The buttons are integrated into the palmrest. So once again, I...

please let us know if it works for you.. :) while i am a bit skeptical, it would be nice if this DID work.. Well, as expected, I ran a color-cycling program, and after 12 hours (actually, a little OVER 12 hours), the greenish stuck pixel is still there. I ran Dead Pixel Tester ( www.dps.uk.com ), w...

You're not alone. After I removed the palm rest to install my wifi card, I got the same squeak on the right side (right of the fingerprint reader). I've done the palm rest re-install with no luck. Then, after removing it to install my 1GB RAM, things are fine again. There's still some flex (I can pu...

Hopefully this program works. LCDs aren't user servicable, are they? I'd be happy to do the work for them, so long as I don't void my warranty :D No, that'll void your warranty. But, you are soon reaching their warranty threshold, which is 16 mixed pixels (stuck + dead). I say, flick your screen an...

Yes, I'm curious to know if it works. I tried massaging it. I tried running a color program for my 32" LCD TV overnight. That didn't work. Others HAVE massaged their stuck pixels before, plus using programs to aid in the process, and it has worked. http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=22980 My...

After installing new memory, I would strongly suggest running a memory tester (memtest86 or memtestx86) to make sure that the memory is good. Just using the machine for a while will not be a sufficient test to catch some faulty memory. ChiefValue is great! My UPS tracking said "2lbs". When I got th...

i reinstalled it and it actually works fine now you might want to try to reinstall as well Yup, you're right. It's weird, but I uninstalled (I kept the settings.ini), reinstalled the latest BETA version, and now it reads 2.00Ghz. EDIT: Out of no where, it switched back to 1Ghz. Just exit and re-run...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! Sorry to vent... Assuming this is correct, that puts my wait at 9 weeks 6 days. Looks like all of a sudden, people's machines are shipped. Maybe they do them in batches, or their vendors finally have parts that came in so Lenovo can build some more. Is PreZ's wait (and patience) the longest of everyone here? I thin...

I just burned something tonight for the first time. I used DVD Decrypter, burning on a TDK 8x DVD+R, and had set the software to burn at "max". It reached a disappointing 2.3x speed. Why is that? Isn't the burner 4x? Should I switch to a 4x disc for optimal results? I might just have to go back to m...

Even crazier, A-DATA 1GB for only $72! I think I'll go for Gigaram, based on so many reviews. I had Crucial on my dead Inspiron 8000. No problems. But you're right, if I'm not buying genuine IBM memory, might as well get a decent third party with good reviews. And, it's only $83.99 as of 5/8/2006 11...

I originally had said that I see two antenna cables that were white and black, coming from the top of the console. Those didn't reach the card, because I was trying to put the card in the WAN mini PCI slot.
hehe..
I'm currently reading this thread to figure out the drivers.
