wow, so I guess I should've bought the Atheros card from the beginning. Not at all. There is nothing to indicate you wont have exactly the same problems with an Atheros card. From what I've been reading before, I thought the 4965ABGN was the one that offer better performance and consumed less power.


Is that the only solution? Is this a common problem with all of them?

Let me start with my configuration: T61, 4965AGN with the latest driver from Intel 11.5. The T61 has been wiped out clean and installed Vista Ultimate. But weird things are happening now. I heard about people running full Vista on T43 with 64MB video cards, but I'm a little bit sceptical about that. I still haven't seen anybody on this board running full Vista. Like I said, it would be great if somebody will really try it.

Did any of you try to install Windows Vista on it? I can't seem to find anybody that tried to run Vista on this model. I'm mostly interested to see if Vista runs with full Aero Glass eye-candy.

It would be a cool review if somebody will give it a shot and let us know the results.

But that was not the REAL Aero glass that will be in the final release. The REAL Aero glass is in the most recent preview build 5342. Anything below did not contain all effects. I think build 5342 has the same Aero as build 5308. The changes has been minor and it didn't include any updates to Aero ...

Can anybody confirm that the hard drive in T60 is a SATA one?

Also, does anybody have any good or bad experiences with Fujitsu 80GB 5400 RPM hard drives? I think the IBMs come with Hitachi brand drives, but I wanted to swap that one out and put my 80GB inside. How are the 2 compare?

I think it will run fine on 64MB. I had a T42 with a 64MB ATI 9600 and glass ran just fine.
