I flashed it this am.
Comes up as BIOS 2.00b and embedded controller 1.06
I am not seeing anything different or unique but it worked fine.

Intel 3945ABG issue
Well I have had my T60 since March/April of 2006. Never ever had any issues with wifi at all. I use an Apple Airport extreme for my AP and have had really good luck - until last Monday. All of a sudden, I will start to loose connectivity. The AP is fine as my other wifi devices stay attached. I trie...

Windows 2003 server on a T60 ?
For fun today, I tried this and actually it works rather nicely on the T60...most of all of the drivers from IBM (XP) worked just fine. However, I noticed 1 thing... Eventhough I installed the ACPI power driver and the Thinkpad power manager....I cannot seem to control or throttle the CPU speeds. Th...

I only have this to say on this.... If you use the INTEL drivers *dont* use the IBM Access Connections. It is not setup (yet) for the new Intel drivers. I would have presumed that if your running the INTEL OEM drivers, you wouldnt be trying to use Access Connections :? The Intel driver does it all (...

I supposed the 'safest' bet is to stick with the Lenovo provided drivers...but I have had no issues with the Intel driver and have been running it almost 24/7 Sorry if my thread here caused you greif. I bought an ultrabay and spare SATA drive for playing. I always backup things (Using Acronis Migrat...

I have a T60 and was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a DECENT web cam....the few I tried here make me look blotchy or sunburned... I want to do AIM video with my parents, but cant get that to work right..and I think its my firewall (Cisco) - but I wont change it. So? - I am look...

T60 Seagate Momentus 7200 question
I ordered this drive and the stupid company sent me an ATA instead of a SATA drive  So I found yet another source that was not too pricey and ordered it. I was wondering if anyone that has one of these can comment on the following: 1. Do you feel it running with your right palm on the palm res...

XP can see the drive just fine. For now, I was able to download the demo of Acronis 9 and used that. It did work....but I was looking for something that didnt involve windows :-( Also, acronis has programs that run and ironically it slows the machine down. So after I mirrored the drives, I deleted A...

Hitachi 5400 vs the Seagate 7200 ?
my T60 came with the 60GB Hitachi drive. It was noisy until I ran the acoustic control and now its mostly quiet on seeks. I do hear the 'shhhhhhhhh' sound of whirring air when its running though. I was wondering therefore, how this would compare to the Seagate momentus 7200 drive? Does that have whi...

Ultrabay T60 and sata hard drive for clone
1. I purchased the ultrabay for the T60 2. I purchased the Hibachi 60gb hard drive (identical to whats inside the T60) Now...what I am after is the following: 1. I want to simply CLONE the drive thats inside the T60 to the Hibachi in the Ultrabay. In the past on my R40, I used a USB floppy with Ghos...

Any final word on noisy fan?
My T60 fan is really annoying. When I am on battery I have things set at LOW LOW LOW and it still runs constantly. I tried some of the settings here as suggested (Max Performance instead of Balanced) - no difference. Nothing I do (even in the BIOS) helps reduce this fan noise. The odd thing is that ...

802.11g channels 12+13 - how?
Ok...any GURUs out there? I live in a very congested area with WIFI. When I had my last notebook, I used ZyAir products...I was able to access channels 12 or 13 on the wireless and this solved my issues as no one can easily use those on most products 8) Is there any way to setup the T60 with Intel 3...

T60 Intel 3945ABG and Cisco Aironet issue
I setup the Cisco Aironet to use WPA2 (AES/CCMP) and LEAP for authenication. I have this working with one major exception! I turn on the T60 and I can authenticate just fine. But once I reboot the T60, I am no longer able to authenticate.....until I reboot the Aironet AP. It seems that the Aironet n...

T60 with Ultrabay battery
I have installed the 2nd battery in the T60...is there anything I need to do to get the software to 'see' it? It still shows my runtime around 3.0hrs and that never changed when I added the 2nd battery....the % of total charge (green battery on tray) did drop and now its at 100%..so I am sure both a...

T60 Intel 3945ABG suddenly no WPA/WPA2 ?!
I have had this laptop for a whopping 2 days. No issues until this AM...suddenly I cannot connect to my AP. After trying several ideas here, I have narrowed it down to the fact that as long as I create a profile that uses NO-encryption or uses WEP I can connect just fine. If I try to use WPA/WPA2 (w...

My new T60 (1953-D6U) and some questions..
I just got this yesterday. I reloaded XP from scratch...following the tips here and all is well...but I have a few questions... 1. there is a bag of 2 screws...1 long and 1 stubby..what are these for and where can they go? 2. T60 (1953-D6U) Battery option part number?
I just picked this unit up...and I was wondering about the "ultrabay" battery.... I seem to get conflicting part numbers....could it be 40Y6789?? does anyone have a valid part number for this battery? I want to keep the standard battery (6cell) but add a 2nd battery in place of the CDROM I dont use....
