BIOS level setting
>Configuration
>Display
>Brightness
it comes set from factory at normal which automatically dims screen on battery power. there apparently is nothing you can do through windows to offset this. you have to change this in BIOS to HIGH instead of normal.

Screen brightness differences

I have 2 brand new T61's right next to each other. both 14" widescreens and the one unit is noticably brighter than the other. save for the obvious things is there a reason why one would be brighter than the other? video card maybe? they both are not (p) models so is there different video card optio...

honestly it seems like you like your M600i. And, in my experience, finding a cell phone you like isnt the easiest thing to do. I would fix it and hold out until it just flat out dies and from there make a decision.

modbook is a joke. there is about a half inch border all the way around the screen that the pen doesn't even touch. even after multiple tries at synching the pen and screen, the synch isn't even close. the pen to tablet synch is always about 1/4 inch off. i wasn't impressed.

I 2nd the big external hard drive. most audio interfaces will work with usb, but it is not the desired choice. i dont know of a Tpad that utilizes firewire 800, but if there is such a beast i would track it down. MOTU, digidesign, M-audio, Edirol, Presonus, etc.... all good gear. I say T61 because y...

As far as the recording end of it goes there is no real reason NOT to use one. Especially one with a firewire port. My t42p does not, but that would not keep me from using pro tools on it if i wanted to. My buddy uses pro tools on his macbook pro, but then again he is a true sound engineer, and im a...

well i wasnt necessarily referring to bulb life because that does not affect all HDTV's that i listed, but since you bring it up about DLP's there are new LED light engine DLP's with a 20,000 hour lamp rating. you do the math at what how much you watch the tv per day to see how long it lasts, but i ...

i know you already made your decision but i thought i would add this in. its kind of an untested, non scientific theory i guess you could say in the home entertainment industry. But, an LCD, DLP, Plasma, Lycos, DILA, etc..... type set, if they have problems, tend to have their issues inside the 12 m...

this is kind of a determining factor for me because i have right now a t42p with UXGA. So going down to a 12"XGA is kind of a big deal. And i dont want to pass up my option of SXGA+ just to have the ability to use my finger.

i have the UXGA flexview screen. it is great for viewing at an angle but as far as brightness goes, it is in my opinion, sub par. that is one area i think lenovo should consider upgrading or giving us the option to upgrade. thanks for the info, that is what i was looking for.

southern California is beautiful and worth checking out. If you go further south, say across Arizona and New Mexico, go through the Grand Canyon. Watch your fuel gauge as well because exits get very scarce when you get away from major cities. Either way, Western US is very nice you will enjoy it
