For grins just try rebooting. It complained to me once that the sensor had failed and to run pc-doctor. After rebooting the laptop everything was fine. I assumed some process monitoring the sensor got wedged.

Netstumbler 0.4.0 works for me on my Atheros equipped X60.
You have to select the NDIS adapter under device - selecting the
Atheros device does not work.

From my perspective, no. Roughly the same form factor, better battery life, better performance (I have a duo). I love the built in EVDO card. Better WIFI performace (I have the Atheros card). 8 cell battery sticking out the back a bit does not bother me. One negative was the 5400 RPM disk, which I r...

My previous laptop was an X31 with the extended battery you describe (I still have the X31 though) My new one is an X60 with the extended battery as well. The X60 extended battery does not have the flip out part that elevates the back of the laptop. HOWEVER, the shape of the X31 extended battery is ...

I have one of the affected 8-cells in my x60. To clarify the procedure, I was told that they would ship me a new battery and once I received it I had a month to return the old battery. They said it would be 2-4 weeks before I received the new battery.

Right, it has to be done under a cold boot. You hit and hold F1 and push the power button. This invokes some special thing that will show the clear security chip option if a normal boot into bios does not show it. The BIOS option you want is labeled something like "clear security chip" It does not s...

Hold down the F1 key when turning on the laptop. The option will then show up in the BIOS menu.

I have had very good luck with Seagate drives over the years and prefer to stick with seagate whenever possible.

As the previous poster mentioned it's very subjective as to which one is actually better - both are great drives.

Well, I can now confirm that a 7200 RPM 100G Momentus does work.. I was originally using ghost 2003, tried both a disk to disk image and a disk to file image and then a file to disk restore. No joy, the disk was readable but not bootable. Make sure I used the -ib switch in Ghost, still no joy. The B...

smvp6459 Exactly what ghost switch did you use to sucessfully clone the drive? I'm upgrading from the 5400RPM Hitachi 100G to a Seagate Momentus 7200RPM 100G drive. My old laptop is an X30 and I have used Ghost many times to clone/backup/recover the drive without incident (with no additional command...
