I'll have to take some pics and share them so others can check it out. It does have a serial number, but it's on a sticker, and it does not start with a 23 or 78 like most serial numbers did at that time. Although I cant prove it, I do believe it to be an engineering sample as the other IBM PCs that...

I love my X20 !

Just got an X20 a little while ago and I love it. It's such a cool little machine. Having the detachable CD/floppy is nice even though I hardly remove it. Windows 2000 is a perfect match.
I have an A21P and still prefer this X20.

Back several years ago, IBM did most if not all development of their desktops and it showed. Some of them like the Aptiva model, had a hibernation mode before any other desktop PC. ok, I admit the MWAVE card was a fiasco! Later Aptiva models were made by acer, and some of the last models were just s...

OS/2 will never be open sourced. A lot of the code is not exclusive to IBM so getting permission from all the various places would be nigh impossible. I dont know why people continue to discuss this. It will never happen.

Just got a pre-production 365XD !

Found it in a pile of donated machines. It has to be an engineering sample because it's like brand new, no marks or damage, and there's no stickers underneath as well as no serial number either. It powers on, but just need to install an OS and hopefully find a battery for it. Once I figure out how t...

Ive got warp connect on an old model thinkpad. I'd like to install 4.51 on one of my newer models, but it seems like OS/2 for personal use is a lost cause because a lot of the updates like USB and patches are not available free.

Well IBM used to sell open bay computers such as the commercial desktop and maybe some PS/2 models. Unfortunately, if one doesnt want the MS preloaded OS, there's no credit for not wanting it.

New member introduction

Just got my account activated here. I'm a thinkpad user, and have a bunch of models that I just don't have time to play with such as: 360C 365 700c (MCA!) 755CV 760XL Dock II X20 I'm using now and like it more and more. I'm an ex IBMer and am familiar with the 360/750/755 models and can provide help...
