I had exactly the same error messages a while ago but there was absolutely nothing wrong with the battery (wear level 0%) and the temperature was normal too. It might be a software issue - who knows. Since then, I didn't have any problems at all. You might want to run a program that monitors your te...

little a wrote: i have a WRK54G, can i turn it up? TIA
Doesn't look like you can since it is a stripped-down version of the WRT54g and has a different chipset, which probably doesn't support a third-party firmware. You might want to look on Ebay. They should be available pretty cheap.

Around 80 mW shouldn't be a problem at all but you can go up all the way to 251 mW which will definitely cause some serious overheating, unless you have some active cooling for the router.

If you have a Linksys router you can also try to flash the firmware like the dd-wrt one http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/index.php

There is an option in the wireless settings where you can increase the transmission power of the router but be careful, don't set it too high.

I know, but actually a good idea. Maybe I should try it. At least it's working now. The only problem I have with the software installs is that it causes a lot of headaches. We should be reimbursed for that somehow. :D

yes, I extractes the setup files to a floppy disk and then copied the files to the boot disk (CD ROM). Lenovo should offer image files of for CD ROMs as well as diskette versions especially when they now the laptops don't have a floppy disk drive.

I finally found a solution. After a lot of unsucessful tries with the non-diskette version 1.19 I did the following: - downloaded diskette version - ran setup and extracted files to disk (on my desktop) - created a bootable CD ROM with Nero - copied the files from the disk to the CD - burned CD ROM ...

great, finally another release. Sounds like I'm stuck again because I can't update my BIOS for some reason. So much for that.

I have the same problem. Software Installer / System Update doesn't show anything. Looks like another Lenovo issue. The Z series seems to be too new for the their software. I will try the above link and see what happens. Thanks so far.

Need help with Bios update

I'm having some issues installing a new release of the bios (1.19). I downloaded everything I need (including the embedded controller files - all for non-diskette). have power-on password removed as it says in the instructions. The installation is running, but nothing really happened after the reboo...

I downloaded it a few weeks ago. Don't ask me how I managed to install it (probably about 10 times re-installed it) but now it is working perfectly. I think Lenovo finally realized that there were some serious problems with that release and lets hope they can fix it right this time. But if you are i...

I have CSS 7.0 running, everything is working fine now. I don't know about the 6.0 version since I ran the update and I can't re-install the earlier version anymore.

CSS 7.0 and Firefox finally working

I recently installed CSS 7.0 hoping that it would accept fingerprints / passwords in Firefox (latest version), but nothing. Yesterday I discovered a plug-in for Firefox C:\Program Files\Lenovo\Client Security Solution\tvtpwm_moz_xpi.xpi that took care of everything. So now finally it's working as it...
