Does the Ultrabase come with an optical drive of some sort (CD-RW or DVD)? If so, I'd be interested at around $30 shipped.
The HD in my x31 crapped out on me and I need a base with an optical drive to reinstall everything on a new HD.

At $150 per 2GB for Kingston PC2700 this is an exceptional DEAL. These sticks are $175 shipped EACH at Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820136016). Even the cheap "valueram" is ~$120 each. That represents an EXCEPTIONAL deal. (Ken, this should address your point of a SUB...

WTT: 256mb PC2-4200 for PC2100 or PC2700 RAM
I have one stick of 256mb PC2-4200 ram (Hynix brand) that I would like to trade for some PC2100 or 2700. Mine was tested and works fine before I pulled it.
Looking for either 256mb or 512mb that would work in a x31. Anyone have any extra PC2100 laying around and need PC2-4200?

I recently ordered the "TrackPoint Cap Collection" directly from Lenovo. It was $10 + tax w/ free shipping. It comes with 2 each of the cat's tongue, soft rim, and soft dome (6 total). I was actually only interested in both of the soft domes, so if anyone wants, I can let go of the other 4. Let's ca...

Quattro, No screws missing that I can tell. erazor, A new palmrest might be the solution. However, I have a tendency to pick up the notebook by one corner of the palmrest, and I can feel quite a bit of flex. I'm trying to make a conscious effort not to do it, but it's habit, and it seems like a new ...

I don't think so, but I have no definite way of telling since I picked it up used. One other thing I noticed was that there is a break of sorts in the plastic housing along the right edge of the unit (directly to the right of the "Enter" key, and directly on top of the edge of the hard drive bay). I...

x31 keyboard pops out & other newbie ???'s
Hi all... I'm new to this forum and recently acquired a used x31 in pretty good shape. I just added 256mb of RAM to the existing 256mb and everything seems to work pretty well. However, there is a slight annoyance with the keyboard. Since the laptop is so small, I take it around the house and litera...
