Re: WTB Small SSD

Would the Kingston Digital 120GB SSDNow V300 work in a z61t?

Would any of these work in a z61t?

Re: Repair x41 tablet or buy used x6x tablet?

Thanks for your comments. I have come to the conclusion that I should probably let the other 8 Thinkpads that I own suffice and forget about the X41 tablet, at least for the time being.

Repair x41 tablet or buy used x6x tablet?

My x41 tablet seems to have died. I suspect that the motherboard needs to be repaired or replaced, which would probably be very expensive here in Iceland.
My question is whether I should go ahead and spend the money to have it fixed, or buy a used x6x tablet instead. Any opinions?

Very tempting. If only I didn't already own 7 Thinkpads (8 if you count my wife's z61t). My wife feels that I already own WAY too many Thinkpads, and since I will no longer have a job as of March 1, I don't think I can justify buying this one. Sigh.

Thanks to Bob (sparta.rising) for an excellent Z61t laptop, which finally arrived safely here in Iceland this evening! :D
Highly recommended.

If only the Icelandic economy (and krona) hadn't collapsed recently! (And if only shipping to Iceland weren't so expensive!)
This seems like a very nice Thinkpad, and very tempting!

T40 USB Problem

I had the same problem with my T40 in 2006. Fortunately, it was still under warranty, so I took it to the dealer, and they ended up replacing the motherboard. I suspect that you will either have to replace your motherboard, or learn to live with USB 1.1.

Is this still for sale? If so, is the 2.5 year warranty valid in Iceland? If so, how much would it cost to ship to Reykjavik, Iceland?

Is this still up for sale? If so, is the price firm or are you open to negotiation? And how much would it cost to ship to Reykjavik, Iceland?

A20m

Congratulations on the good deal!
A20m Thinkpads use PC100 SDRAM 144-pin non-parity SoDIMM memory, don't they? Do you know if it would be possible to use PC133 SDRAM 144-pin non-parity SoDIMM memory instead?
