Did the previous driver version work better? Did the display instantly light up when the lid was opened?
I still havent' uninstalled the driver. Too busy...

I guess the question is, "why do we need the intel driver?" My only reason for wanting it would be impoved power management (ie superior battery length time). I can't get this to fix in an acceptable manner. Even my cheapest, oldest, meanest laptops perform better in this regard. When I open my lid, the computer should (as it does with all other laptops I've used) come on instantly (no delay-- x60s delays a full second) and there should for sure be no res...

I have this problem too (that's how I found this forum, via google). I tried to do as above posters had, but still no luck. Opening the lid I wait a second or two (black screen), then it comes up low-res, then it goes back to the native resolution (1024x768). The best I can sometimes do is get it to...
