T60p power mgmt bug drastically reduces graphics performance

Jan 1, 2011 edit: Amazingly this bug is fixed. I just tested the latest TP power manager and you can now set "Optimize Fan Control" to "Balance all parameters" without putting the graphics card into a persistent battery-saving mode: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIG...

Re: Partition Magic

Which version of Partition Magic is required to get rid of the recovery partition on the T61p. I see that some of the older versions are shareware and free while the latest is $50-$80. Can this be done by other means. Keep in mind I do not know what I am doing! <vbg> Just wanting to get rid of the ...

Re: Still experiencing problem after installing field kit

Rubber boots help, but its a good idea to go into standby before docking to avoid weird problems. You realize that the problem happen during standby.... right? The boots fixed a lot of problems for me. I can dock in standby. Sometimes the keyboard doesn't work after coming out of standby but I just...

I know this is an old thread but I've been researching the graininess/sparkle issue that's been discussed. the LG FlexView T60 I received this month has minimal sparkle compared to the LG FlexView T42 I tried several years ago. it is roughly equivalent to the non-FlexView LG panel in my T60 widescr...

The CNET review says: The LED-backlit display, also seen in the new 15-inch MacBook Pro, helps to make the system's lid thinner (less than a quarter-inch thick) while also extending battery life, although users should not expect the display to look any different than a traditional LCD laptop screen....

Not quite. Sandisk rates their SSD at 44 MB/s, while Samsung claims 56 MB/s read performance. Both are still lower than the 7K200 real-world performance above. Not to mention that a 32 GB SSD costs about $20 per GB today, compared to $1 per GB for the 7K200. That will change but we're not there yet...

Speed is normally measured by a rate at which something is accomplished, whether it's mph, km/h, m/s, rpm or Mb/s -- not the length of time it takes to cover a given number of miles, km, metres, revolutions or megabytes. So it's the second column that makes sense ... OK that makes sense. In my quot...

I think my brain is fried, but I've come up with two contradictory ways to measure how much faster the 7K200 is than the 7K100. Let's pretend that the 7K200 can read 1000mb in 15 secs and the 7K100 can read 1000mb in 20 secs. The 7K200 reads 67mb/sec vs the 7K100's 50 mb/sec so its 33% faster, right...

Definitely expensive. Mwave is at list price, and the Mac guys are expected to pay even 20% above list. Over the next few weeks as stock arrives, I think we should start seeing prices in the low $200s. And maybe low $100s a year from now. :) A 7K100 is about $125 - so for $245 you're getting double...

Subjectively, i'd say the color gamut is about the same. The T60p just has a brighter white which is completely ice white. Edit: Ok, i pulled myself together again.
