Sounds like overheating or graphics chip problem. Just because nothing happens when you press the chip, and it sometimes shuts down when you don't, doesn't exclude this. I noticed that my fan works harder after Banias 1.3 -> Dothan 1.8 upgrade. I still use the same short fan though. Thats wierd, I thought dothans had a TDP of 21 w as compared to 27w for banias ? I just installed Ubuntu 'feisty' on my T40. Wifi worked straight away, but the Fn F5 button seems doesn't work, I cannot turn off my wifi. Does anybody has the same experience? My wifi card is IBM a/b/g (atheros, version 1).
