Re: Say it aint so joe, T61P Sata II 3G and SSD questions
hmm, ill answer part of my own question in mild fury, the T61P will in fact support Sata II or 3G, which apparently means it will recognize it and use it, but it will be capped at Sata 1 / 1.5G speeds due to internal limitations. no wonder the information is conflicting. way to help me get the most ...

Say it aint so joe, T61P Sata II 3G and SSD questions
I have a T61P and would like to upgrade to a 128GB SSD. However, in the process I am encountering conflicting information. This is for my primary drive, not the ultra bay. According to Intel, my chipset supports 3G transfer rates, but apparently Lenovo has not enabled this for the T61p? So even repl...

T61P TurboMemory question...does size matter?
i currenty have the 1GB turbo memory flavor and have run it without issue, for 7-8 months. I noticed there is a 4GB size out now, but am not sure if these will work in the T61P's, specifically 6458-5KU with Vista 64

i used magic jellybean key finder to pull my Vista Ultimate Key from my T61P and it did allow me to install Vista Ultimate 64, however, it would not 'register' it. well, i have the side bar gaget running, and i can see memory usage stays around 60%, so I think more ram is good, and i do find the 4GB SD readyboost really does speed things up. Last nite I cloned my 100GB 7K200 to a 200GB 7K200 using Acronis True Image v 11 on Vista Ultimate T61p I actually did it through usb and encountered no difficulties. The only sligh annoyance is when you go from 100 to 200 the EISA partition goes from 6.x GB partition to an exact double. I am pretty...

Z60 WLAN suggestions/experience 802.11n
has anyone tried the 802.11n cards for their thinkpads. I see the official FRU is 42T0825 which is really just an Aetheros model: AR5BXB72 I believe. I have read that thinkpads will not use a non IBM branded card. Does anyone have any experience with this and can confirm or deny. The price points ar...

Unless they ship the unit you are looking at with Vista, my personal opinion is that 1.66 is not enough CPU, I think my Z61T handled it well because I have the 4MB T7200 processor, 2GB RAM and 7200RPM drive While it ran it well, I would not tell you that it manhandled it and the best user experience...

Presentation Director: oemdspif.dll cannot be loaded
i have this problem. I am on a Z61T which has an integrated Intel graphics card. (9440-D9U) I ended up loading ATI drivers for docking station, which I had a PCI-e ATI x550 installed in. The docking station, incidently, is probably going back, to many issues. I am able to easily get a second monitor...

AHCI vs Comatibility Mode. Fresh Install
Hi I have a Z61T and like it alot. Due to replacing my HDD with no recovery partition. I need to install fresh copy of WinXPP. I have run Windows Vista's for a couple of months, and while it is very nice in some regards it is causing me to many headaches in other areas I have tried to install WinXPP...
