Re: Win7 Enhanced Experience, have you actually experienced it?
I recently purchased an x200 for a client that had Win7 Enhanced installed. To see how "enhanced" it really was, I booted my x60s (running Win7 Ultimate with a clean install)and the new x200 simultaneously. The x60s was faster. Then again I also have 3GB on the x60s vs. 2GB on the x200. And I also w...

Re: Thinkpad X60 good for Photoshop?
I've been running CS2 on my x60s for the past 3 years. I'm in no way a pro user but I haven't run into many problems. I've stitched together many panoramas and made composites of different photos. Just had to wait longer than I'd like - but then again I'm impatient.

x60s - installing a faster WLAN card
I wanted to upgrade my abg card to the newer n-speed card so I purchased an Intel 4965 AGN off of ebay. The card has a FRU of 42T0865 printed on the label so I know that it is made for the Thinkpad and I found the appropriate driver on the x60s driver page. When I install the card and try to boot I ...

You know, I just reread my reply. What I meant to say is that I think you'll be fine and that you won't lose your D partition. Too much allergy medicine.

Re: Keeping my D Partiton when installing Win 7
I'd say probably not. I also have a D partition (as well as a J and V) and I have yet to lose those partitions when installing a new OS. I do a clean install as opposed to an upgrade, but I don't see how it would be that different.

Re: 4GB RAM in T4x under Win 7?
I tried installing 4GB on x60s. Windows recognized that 4GB was installed but stated that only 3GB was accessible. Needless to say I returned one of the 2GB modules.

I agree with alexander_s. I'm running with a combo of a Patriot PSD21G6672S (1GB) and a Corsair VS2GSDS667D2 (2GB).

Re: T60 with Windows 7 RTM, problem with Hotkey feature
I started having problems with the Hotkey feature and my X60s when I was running Server 2008 and again when I changed to Win7 (RC & Beta). Turned out it wasn't the Hotkey software - it was actually the System Interface Driver. I upgraded to the latest Vista driver (didn't try the Beta) located http:...

Re: Maximum memory supported but x60s?
It really seems to. Now how much of that is totally psychological and how much is reality is left to be seen. Things seem much faster when I'm running multiple virtual machines (the true reason why I wanted more than 2GB). Time in opening apps seems quicker (I'm sure this is where "wishful thinking"...

Re: Maximum memory supported but x60s?
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this thread!!! I always took it as the gospel truth that my x60s could only run 2GB since that is what's posted in the specs. I bought an additional 2GB DIMM and now my laptop is happily humming away with 3GB on Windows 7. Saves me from buying a new X200s for anot...

Re: Anyone notice that Power Manager for W7 RTM is old
It's odd that it's only v2.43. I'm running the non-Win7 version on my x60s and it's v2.50 (and I noticed on the driver matrix page that there is a new Vista v2.51). The Vista version runs just fine on my box.

I have an x60s (1702-94U) and have no problems resuming from sleep. I'm currently running Windows 7 Build 7100 (RC1).

Waterfield/SF Bags question
I'm interested in purchasing one of the Waterfield sleeves (size 22-16) for my x60s 4-cell and want to make sure that the case will fit in my existing purse.
Can anyone provide me with the external dimensions of the case (with laptop inside, of course)?
Your help is greatly appreciated.

I agree completely! But I'm definitely not unhappy about the situation...
The DIMMs are Patriot PSD21G6672S (you can see the specs at http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a ... 6820220078).
Let me know what you think.

2GB Memory = Cooler Right Palm Rest???
I don't know if it's just a coincidence or there are other cosmic forces at work, but ever since I upgraded my x60s (L2400 processor) with 2 matching DIMMs the right wrist rest is NOTICEABLY cooler.

I really didn't do it to raise my "Vista Experience" score. What can I say? I'm a sucker for RAM and I want to see how "dual channel memory" checks out. Plus, I did got the extra module for about $50. As to increase in performance, I really haven't done anything today expect to work on a couple of s...

x60s Dual Channel Memory
I am currently running my x60s (1704-94u) with 1.5GB RAM using the dreaded Windows Vista. I just saw the identical 1GB module that I currently have on sale for less than $60. My question is, would I notice any blazing differences in speed using the 2 matched chips or should I be cheap and keep my mi...
