Re: Windows 8 permanent use on X220 Tablet questions.

I am now 11 days into Windows 8 Release Preview x64 on my X201T. It is better than Windows 8 Consumer Preview for both compatibility and stability and I plan to use it every day until I buy my X230T probably in the fall but maybe sooner. I've gotten several programs that didn't work on CP to work on...

Driver to let my X201T with W8RP automatically rotate?

After 10 days of configuring from scratch, I think I have just about everything working properly on my 2 year old X201T tablet with touch screen. I've installed a couple of Lenovo drivers for on screen display and hot keys. I'm running Windows 8 Release Preview x64 on an i7 tablet with a 320 gb hard...

Erik, thanks VERY much for the help.

Is there any difference that would affect battery life to a significant amount?

Re: Question about X230 Processor Options

I hope someone smart and experienced will answer this too. I'm planning on an X230 or X230t with the i7 since I want the best speed inc possibly better graphics for the only game I care about, Microsoft Flight. I'd like to see someone explain the tradeoffs other than price for all the available X230...

I wasn't aware of the outlet site. Can you post a link? I'm planning on an X230 so 1600 x 900 makes me drool. Now I've got fingers crossed on both hands. I think the keyboard might be fine, and more reliable than the X220 style. I've replaced keyboards over and over on R50, T520 and X201, so I'm wil...

Re: Windows 8 permanent use on X220 Tablet questions.

I've been using Windows 8 Consumer Preview x64 on my personal X201t. My X201t has 8 gb of ram and I used an extra 320 gb hard drive to install the operating system. I love it and won't go back. So far it has been 100% rock solid with no BSOD. That's using it every day since February 29th. This Micro...

Gaming Graphics, Battery Life on X220T vs. next generation.

I'm planning to replace my X201T i7 L640 laptop/tablet in the fall when Windows 8 RTM and Ivy Bridge come out. Right now I'm running Windows 8 Consumer Preview and I really like it. Microsoft Flight beta is the only game I use on it, but it would benefit from better graphics. The more modern screen ...

Maybe I'm the only one, but I have made the switch from Windows 7 Professional x64 to Windows 8 Consumer Preview x64 on my "I use it all the time every day" X201T. When Windows 8 Developer Preview came out in September, I ran it on an extra X201T without camera or blue tooth and liked it pretty much...

Don't you think it will be a Windows 8 machine, released in October or November? That's what I'm counting on.

I've been running Windows 8 Developer Preview on an X201T. The touch function works much better than on Windows 7 Professional with Lenovo enhancements like SimpleTouch 2.1.

I did not do the Sysprep... installation. My X201T has been fine. When I boot into the R&R utilities instead of Windows 7 Pro, it shows I'm running the upgraded R&R.

Try installing Rescue and Recovery 4.50 for Windows 7 including Windows 7 x64.
It was just released 11/14/2011. I tried it yesterday and it solved a R&R 4.31 problem I had.

Sysprepbackup Accessory Package? Do I need to install it?

I just upgraded from Rescue and Recovery 4.31 to 4.50 on my X201t which came with Win 7 Pro x64 and R&R 4.3 or earlier. I did the upgrade due to R&R 4.31 getting stuck at "gathering data...". Thanks to everyone for the quick replies. Q-Ball and mariol90 have me nailed. I like the 1280 x 800 and will miss the lower vertical resolution of the X220t. Lenovo System Update today released ThinkVantage Tablet Shortcut Menu 6.26 which I just installed (updating my 6.25 version).

The description of this update suggests it might fix problems after switching into and out of "Tablet" (ie Portriat?) mode.

It seems to have fixed my problem so far.

Re: X201T Mouse and Stylus and Touch woes just appeared...

Well, my problem and my solution turned out to be a little more complicated than I realized. The problem with the pen stylus not making the transition to portrait mode was fixed by updating "ISD Tablet" from version 7.02-10 to 7.02-19. This is a Wacom program published by Lenovo. However, if I downl...

Solved: The ISD Tablet driver is a Wacom product published by Lenovo.
