Re: Reputable source for IBM T60p Fan Part?
This may be an obvious question, but in terms of actually swapping out the fan, is there a forum resource on how to swap out the fan? I'm comfortable with taking it out, but I think there should be thermal grease applied in certain parts, correct?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Reputable source for IBM T60p Fan Part?
Hi Bill, Thanks for your suggestion. I looked at the latest manual at http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/42t7844_04.pdf and it looks like my fan part # is also 41W0467. Putting that into the lenovo site (http://www-304.ibm.com/shop/americas/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/default/P...

Reputable source for IBM T60p Fan Part?
Hi Thinkpad Forums, I previously posted my question in this topic as an add-on. http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=92705 My Thinkpad T60 has had a long history of fan problems. The original fan was replaced in 2008, and now that replacement fan has broken down. So I'd like to buy a new ...

Re: T60p fan going to die soon. Replace with a different one?
Not to steal this thread, but I figured I'd post in here since I have the same issue My thinkpad T60p has a bad fan (41V9932) and I need to replace it completely. I'm looking at the IBM/Lenovo support site and can't figure out how to order a new one: http://www-304.ibm.com/shop/americas/webapp/wcs/...

I'm wondering why this t60 is giving so much trouble After the t60's fan was successfully replaced with the same appropriate part 41V9932, the fan noise is still extremely loud from a new ibm fan. By extremely loud, I mean that it sounds like it's broken. Could the noise be caused by anything else? ...

Talking to lenovo, out of warranty repairs start at $150 minimum. the way the phone support person (who doesnt enjoy his job) described it, it would be $150 to open a ticket and then to start to figure out the problem I wasn't able to get an estimate on how much replacing the fan out of warranty wou...

I had a rattling fan for a few months and only recently had it replaced by Lenovo Singapore. I tried cleaning it multiple times to no avail. Luckily it had the default 3 year warranty (bought in Australia). It took 2 working days - I was amazed. The tech said the fan was actually wearing out. The l...

Fan noise problem
Hello, I'm trying to pinpoint my issue and then solve it. My T60 has been extremely loud and audible for the past week, where I am worrying about it's lifespan. I have had it for a year or two, and it has always had what I would consider to be a noisy fan. However, the laptop is now noisy to the poi...

vista t60 - no audio
Hi all, I wish I could pinpoint a specific time/event that caused this, but I just noticed this a couple days ago. My T60, formatted with vista, used to have working sound, aka it was normal. In the past week, no sounds come out at all. I've gone through windows update and the lenovo system update, ...

Re: I guess we are very different, hence so many laptop desi
I'd like a laptop I'm not afraid to move (since I'm not smart enough to fix the one I have), and one that is pretty darn fast, with more than 4 hrs battery life, that will run XP Pro. Not too many choices out there for new technology with XP Pro. I'm very happy that T61's have it as an option. sooo...
