Re: Latest T60p build date

The ltwbook says it was first released in Feb 2006, and US models were withdrawn effective Oct 2006, Sept 2007, or Dec 2007 http://www.lenovo.com/psref/pdf/ltwbook.pdf I also looked at every T60/P model there and indeed 12/2007 is the last production date. Some of the earliest T60 models will be 6 y...

Re: The best Thinkpad for non-design student

Quick question...is frequent portability a key factor or will this thing be sitting on a desktop most of the time? Speaking only for Lenovo machines, currently the W520 is the best desktop replacement machine, and the IPS X220 is the best ultra-portable. For price, configure one yourself and ask que...

Re: Using a T41 14" LCD in a T42?

IBM P/N 92P6756 FRU P/N 92P6759 That's an XGA panel, so as long as the T41 panel is also XGA you are good to go. If you start swapping different resolution panels in that series you need to worry about inverter and LCD signal cable part numbers because they are different as you go up in resolution....

Re: SL510: brownish marks on/under screen?

Do you live in a humid environment? It could very well be condensation. I don't know of a reliable way to remove stains inside an LCD. Even if you could get to the stain to clean it you'd make the problem worse by allowing dust to get inside. These things are assembled in clean rooms. If you want to...

I have no idea what you are asking or complaining about. Is this in reference to searching for drivers on Lenovo's new support site? If yes, here's the index;

I'd say it runs very well. Boot up time is less than 20 seconds (XP Pro) and all of the programs I use seem to load instantly. Here is a CrystalDiskMark run on the SSD. Note; This machine is limited to SATA 1. Also I have W7 on order for it. http://home.comcast.net/~harryc56/Jpegs/Z61T_CrystalDiskMa...

Hand the recovery discs over to the new owner, or run a fresh factory recovery and let them burn their own set. .

Re: How to restore my X220 Tablet HDD to the factory default?

Great comment Harry. I bought this as "second hand" from a friend and sending to Lenovo and asking for their help is not possible. Is there any other suggestion please? The fact that you bought it second hand has nothing to do with the standard 1 year warranty. That remains with the machine, not th...

Re: How to restore my X220 Tablet HDD to the factory default?

Why would you buy a new had drive when the old one was under warranty? Call Lenovo and explain that their hard drive crashed before you could create recovery CD's (shame on you for not) and tell them to ship you a new drive and a recovery CD set.

My understanding is that X60/s and X61/s boards are the same (except that the X61 has no infrared), X60t and X61t are different.

In the motherboard manual it says that the heatsink is included. In other references I found it says to use the 'custom' heatsink that comes with the motherboard. If it's custom contact the manufacturer.

FWIW, I have an X61 and for the items you mentioned there is no difference between it and an X61T. I used Lenovo Thinkvantage System Update and had no issues with the APS or Wireless drivers. I have no idea on the RST, don't recall installing it or using it.
