Re: R52 Volume Controls HotKey newest version 2014

When I installed Windows 7 on my T43 I noted that as of 4/14/2013 the latest hotkey driver that works on a T43 is 8jvu23ww, package version 3.81.0100, November 1, 2012. There were two newer hotkey drivers at that time and both failed. For Power Management I used geku18ww, version 1.66.0.22, January ...

Re: R52 Win7 Audio Issues

On my T43-1872 there are buttons in the upper left corner of the keyboard to raise, lower, and mute the volume. Try maxing out the volume with the up arrow button. Windows update will find audio driver 5.12.1.5450 and install it. In my case recording from the mic input would not work so I tried to i...

Re: Middleton BIOS help T61

The file you need to read is called READ_ME!!!.txt and it is in the root directory of the compressed archive. In the BIOS update -> 32-bit folder there is also a file called README.TXT. This is not the file that gives flashing instructions but it talks about changing the start-up screen.

I tried to run PS2 under MSDOS 5 and it does not work as you found out. It does run in MSDOS 6 and 6.22 if you can use those releases instead of MSDOS 5. I don't know of a way to set the serial port configuration in MSDOS 5.

By default the serial port is disabled and can be turned on using the Thinkpad Configuration Utility for DOS. You can find it at http://ps-2.kev009.com/pccbbs/mobiles/, file 7hu601us.exe and 7hu601us.txt. The .exe is really just a zip file that self extracts when you follow the installation instruct...

Started messing with the T43 again. Surprisingly today, when it was booting up, I pressed the LCD on/off switch up and about 5 times, and the screen came on as normal. I'm thinking that this rules out a blown fuse. LCD on/off switch bad/loose????? I really hate to have to get rid of this T43, since...

Re: T60p lcd backlight dead, but only sometimes - fix possible?

I have a T43 that behaved like yours. First I replaced the inverter card without much hope that would fix it, but the card was cheap. The problem remained so I bought a replacement lid assembly. As I removed the defective LCD lid the lid switch fell off the LCD cable. Lead free solder strikes again!...

Re: wich command should i give?

The Win98 CD should be bootable. If your Thinkpad cannot boot from a CD, type the drive letter of the CD-ROM drive followed by :. For example if the drive is D, type D:. Then type dir to see if setup.exe is listed. If it is then type setup.exe and the installation should start.

Re: T40 factory restore hangs after installing NAV

I had a Dell machine that would always hang during factory restore. If I did a hard power off after it hung and rebooted it would continue and finish restoring without errors. Give that a try since you have not found any hardware problems.

I need to use the serial port but not the IR port so I use PS2 to set the 600X the way I want it. On the 600E (when I had one) it was ne...

Measure the output voltage of the AC Adapter. It should be 20 volts DC. If that checks ok, remove the battery from the T60 and try to start it with just the AC Adapter plugged in.

Western Digital drives smaller than 500GB are not advanced format types. Advanced format drive model numbers end with BPKT while the non advanced format drive model numbers end in BEKT. See the Scorpio selector guide at http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/S ... 701275.pdf
