I tried Tyco's list and Digikey to no avail. will try Newark

Rick that is nice of you, let me see if I could save it and then I'll ask for the favour. I am in Canada. I might suck it up and plug the whole so noone would short it again and live with one USB.

No it is dead with or without.

But I have to change that FET still and see what happens. To cheap to pay the shipping on digikey waiting for some other parts and then will do them all at once.

I appreciate the responces, It is not like I swam with the thing and plugged it in to see what happens. Water spilled on it, I sped to unplug it, didn't quite work after until I dried the living life out of it. It was running for a good few feeks after that. There is no corrosion on it, pure water b...

Thanks a lot

I have the user password and I could use the thing is the machine, but I don't have the admin password that is needed to remove the password. I could change it and all but just can't remove it. which is annoying anyways. I bought the machine used and the previous owner didn't know or remember the ad...

I knew most of them wouldn't do it but I was hoping some more expensive ones would follow the protocol and acknowledge it.

I can't remove the password so, it seems like this drive stays in the machine until its last breath

Passord Protected drive in USB enclosure

Has anyone tried using a password protected drive in a USB enclosure?

is there a brand of enclosure that recognises that IBM type of harddrive password?

The drive works in the laptop, T40, but i haven't found a USB enclosure that could use the drive

Thanks

As I explained I got the machine from someone and he is confident there was no password other than the one he gave me. I was reading the hard drive data sheet and realised to set user password you need to set Master password and chances are the dealer or someone else set the master for this guy and ...

Password HD in USB adaptor

I have a password protected drive from a T40. I got the machine from some guy who only remembered one password, and that is only user. He doesn't remember setting any other password. eitherway I have used it happily for a while. I am thinking about using this drive as a backup through a USB interfac...
