[quote="aiiee"]I just checked and my sound is working. I'm on KDE 3.59. I cannot remember if I had to do anything special to get it to work. I know at one time the controls did not work, but I can't remember if I was on KDE 3.59 or KDE 4.0. KDE 4.0 is so buggy in most other ways. I just fell back to...

Xubuntu 8.04 issues on a T61p
I've managed to get most of the things that I use working with Xubuntu on my T61p, but there remain I cannot get the microphone to work. X40 Replacement Keyboard
I have a nephew who thinks that my Mum's X40 looks better without about 15 of its keys. He also seems to think they taste good. As a result of his opinion in this matter, he proceeded to remove many keys from said laptop and suck on them until they were thoroughly soaked. My disagreement with his cu...

Thanks everyone
If I thought buying a ThiknPad was the best laptop purchase I've ever made before, the rapid availability of such comprehensive support makes me doubly certain of it now.
Glad to know I don't have to mess around on the phone with the manufacturer's incompetent support staff any more!
Thanks guys!

Replacing SODIMM in T61p
I've replaced RAM in many laptops before, but I'm having a little trouble with the T61p. Are there any disassembly guides for this model? I'm a little timid to disassemble too far without being sure that I really can safely take out that screw that looks like removal may result in Bad Things. Can an...
