Which Distro for X200

Greetings, while I am waiting for my new x200 to show up, I am wondering if anyone can give their input on what variation of linux they have running on it. I really like Ubuntu and am quite comfortable at least as far as GNOME is concerned. My main concern is hardware support, as I have read a few t...

Re: Any experience with the 9cells from ebay?

i believe i have had bad luck myself, with an R32 i bought an ultrabay battery, i believe its a genuine one and came new in box, but still it died on me out of the blue, i dont think its worth the risk on such expensive items, and likely following murphy's law, the failure will happen at the worst t...

Installing XP on X200

Greetings, just made the jump from an R32 to X200, have not received it yet, the wait is killing me. I ordered it with Vista Business installed and it comes with an XP Pro recovery CD, also there is word that 7 will be available for $30 when it is released. Re: Windows 7: what is your opinion/take?

On my old (~2003 model) P4-M 1.6 512MB RAM 160GB hard drive I have to say that for a modern operating system I am happy with my computer that it runs. W7 reminds me a lot of the little experience I have had with OSX and the KDE linux desktop. It clearly runs with some graphical features turned off o...

[censored] the t400s are sounding better and better. can anyone comment if they are essentially the same as the t500, im leaning towards that now due to the bigger screen. from what i've read the t60>t61 but neither sound that appealing compared to t42/t43 or the newer models. and honestly i with i ...

This post is relevant to my interests. Ebay has some good deals, but so far they have all slipped away from me in the last minute.
