Re: If you had to use another brand of computer what would it be

I was given an HP elitebook 6930p at work, and I switched to a desktop instead of using it. The trackpoint implementation was awful, and the keyboard just felt cheap. My favorite was this flimsy little light that popped out of the top trying to be a thinklight.... It was fairly sturdy for a wanna be...

R series lid

I am debating a used T or R series. I know some of the R series have the plastic lid, while some have the rubberized lid. Does the R60/R61 have the cheap feeling plastic top or the rubberized one? Thanks

Any warranty?

Does anyone know if it is possible to solder the connector on the motherboard for the ultranav?

I am guessing it has the GMA950 graphics card?

R60e ultranav

I am looking at buying a used r60e on ebay, then upgrading it with a core duo T2300 socket M cpu I have.

Anyways, I am wondering do the R60e's have the connector to upgrade to an ultranav palmrest with a touchpad? If not, can you solder the connector on the motherboard?

WTB T60 or newer

Here are my requirements: Prefer T/R 60 with celeron as I have a spare core duo T2500 I can upgrade it to since I cannot afford a core duo or core 2 duo laptop on this budget. Under $250 14" High resolution screen I do not care about hard drive, memory or operating system, but the system must be 100...

Re: Thinkpad T400s ?

I heard a rumor on another site (cannot remember exactly which page) that lenovo could be coming out with a dock for this machine that has a discrete GPU inside.

How cool would that be??? Taking switchable graphics to the next level.

Re: Can T40p use windows vista ?

Yes, as long as you have 1gb+ of ram. The main issue, though is that the built in Windows Vista (and I presume windows 7) drivers for the ATI mobility graphics do NOT support powerplay, meaning your GPU runs at full performance and full power consumption while on battery which eats up your battery l...

WTB T4x touchpad button part

On my touchpad button, their is a small round piece that sits between the plastic button that you press and it makes contact with the board underneath. Re: T400 vs. R400

Also, I believe the R series are slightly thicker. They do not use the ultrabay slim optical drives, they use thicker ones which accounts for the height difference. Both the T and the R typically use very similar (if not the same) motherboards, keyboards, etc. The only difference is size and availab...

blinking battery led

I bought a new\used battery from ebay, it only had one cycle on it from 2005. It works and charges fine, and lasts about two hours, just when the battery hits about 50%, it suddenly drops to dead, thinking this means one or two of the cells may be dead. What concerns me though, the battery light bli...

I would recommend checking your A/C Adaptor, and the CPU. Make sure you have nothing shorting out, etc.

You may have just gotten unlucky twice though, What GPU does the ebay board have?

I have been considering purchasing a t61 or r61 on the outlet for quite some time now.

One time for $700 they had one with a T9300, 14in high res screen, etc, nvidia gpu, 9 cell, etc.

Does anyone know if an extended warranty can be added to an outlet PC, and what the pricing might be?

My ATI Power Play stopped working. When I unplug AC the system realizes it and the screen dims, but the GPU does not underclock, and my battery lost about 15 minutes run time.
