Re: WTB Replacement keys for Thinkpad Compact Bluetooth Keyboard

Why are you losing keys? This may be of interest. I saw this but I wasn't sure it was a legit site (also I couldn't find this model). Thanks! It seems the keys pop out kind of easily on that keyboard; for example if you press it too hard, it may come loose. Once I bumped it by accident and one key ...

WTB Replacement keys for Thinkpad Compact Bluetooth Keyboard

I've had success buying missing keys for my thinkpads from ebay in the past, I'm having a little trouble though finding missing keys for my thinkpad compact bluetooth keyboard. Anyone know where I can buy it or selling it themselves? Thanks!

pianowizard - thanks for bringing those to my attention. I usually don't look at ads older than a month or two so I guess I missed those. This will be used for running a software on windows that will control a robotic arm to move in a sequential order...that's it really. I'm not sure if its uses wil...

WTB: thinkad for ~$50-60

Hi all, I'm looking for a cheapie thinkpad, no more than $65 shipped to Canada with a hard drive and preferably with some windows os. It will be used to only do some basic tasks. I figured if I had to go cheap for an old used laptop, thinkpads are the way to go. Does not have to have a fully charged...

Re: Advice on replacement battery for X61 (not tablet)

I've actually been looking for a replacement battery for my x60s, but I've been weary of the ebay batteries. Thanks for the link, I've placed my order. Interestingly, the same battery is much more expensive at drbattery.com than battdepot.

The 'is the x220 good enough' question

Hi all, So my friend currently has an x60s and she's been thinking of upgrading for work. She uses AutoCAD at work and finds that on the x60s, its way too slow. So she was thinking of getting an x220 as an upgrade. I was concerned it might not be good enough, even with the new processors, due to its...

LF: x60s and x61 battery

Hi all,
I am looking for two 4 cell batteries (x60s and x61). I am tired of the bulge that my 8 cell has, and my friend's (x60s) battery is pretty much deadweight. Shipped to Canada.

Thanks!

X61 making strange noises

I recently purchased an X61, and I noticed that it makes a constant whizzing noise. I suspect it was the fan, did some research and installed this: http://staff-www.uni-marburg.de/~schmitzr/donate.html . On 'Smart' Mode, the noise stopped (the fan is off), but I don't know at what temperature the fa...

Re: FS: Thinkpad X41 Tablet

I've had that noise while charging the battery of my old x41 when I lost my AC adapter and had to use one from an old T40 series. So that may be all it was. I think the voltage was different.

Anyway, good luck on the sale.

Re: The new ipod nano 6th generation defies the laws of physics

the expected lifecycle of Apple's products are too short, especially their iPod range... this is creating too much e-Waste/Junk. It's probably done on purpose as a marketing strategy. If a newer model comes out, and yours just died, it's the perfect time to buy the new one! Sadly, I suspect that's ...

Re: [buzz] MacBook Air (2010 model)

Honestly, Windows people won't buy the Air because they don't "get" Apple. Apple people won't buy any non-Apple because for them OS X is more than just a spec. Personally I hate all of this 'windows vs os x' stuff, or more inaccurately and often framed, 'PC vs Macs'. Ironically, the only people who...

I had been looking for an x41 motherboard, but I wondered why I hadn't seen such a cheap listing. But I realize it ships in the US only, and I live in Canada =(
Thanks for the link though! I'll ask the seller if they'll make an exception.

LF X41 motherboard

So my x41 recently has been showing some problems (see topic here ), and I'm really in need of a laptop. Since I don't have $200-300 to spend on another thinkpad, would anyone have an x41 working motherboard lying around (perhaps with other damaged parts and such)? Is under $50 reasonable? Alternati...

Re: x41 problems

I guess that would mean the problem lies in the motherboard/CPU? Is there a way to test which one it is? I kind of don't have the money for a new laptop, but I'm certainly in need. And there is someone selling a Pent M CPU in the market forum.. =(

Not sure what constitutes as removing everything without removing too much, but I removed the battery, the hard drive, the PCI card, the Daughter card and the RAM. So I *finally* managed to get the screws out and looked inside my laptop. Re: x41 problems

Thanks for that. I ran pc doctor and everything pass. I'm thinking it may be a heating issue (overheats too quickly?), although doesn't that shut it down rather than freeze the system? So I've been having a few problems lately with my x41.. First, I would sometimes get a keyboard error on startup..usually I fix this by restarting it enough time and hope for the best. Ops, I didn't that stuff was needed. Type: 6230, Model: MEU. What's currently on there is DDR PC2700. Hmmm, does that mean it can take any DDR PC2700? It doesn't have to be IBM branded?
