Measuring ReadyBoost Performance
NVM I figured it out; the compact flash is not compatible with the 4 in 1 card reader I have. Just in case anybody ever wonders later on, I figured I would update it here. Also, i ended up going with a Patriot 8 GB Class 6 SD card. After reformatting the card to NTFS Windows recommended that I dedic...

Assessing ReadyBoost Effect with Patriot 8GB Class 6 SD card
Hi, I am trying to get a flash card for storage/readyboost to go with my T61 (6463-CTO, see sig). I was going to get the Sandisk SD Extreme III (http://www.shopbot.ca/pp-sandisk-secure-digital-card-extreme-iii-hc-8gb-sandisk-price-90648.html) and use it as 4gb for Readyboost, and 4gb for storage. It...

Re: T61p - regularly dimming display
Hey,
Does anyone know if we can go back to the old style Volume and Brightness displays, the ones that were green with vertical bars?
Thanks.

Re: Debating a T60 (WARNING! Pictures Inside)
Hey, @pianowizard and @jimmy274 Its true the resolution can definitely be increased but unfortunately it makes things too small for the person using it to see. That's not to say that I don't do a quick change every time I'm using it. Also, I find the T60s converted me to preferring a non-widescreen ...

Re: Debating a T60 (WARNING! Pictures Inside)
Arite guys, So I've been playing around with the new T60 for a few days. The screen's nice except for one blemish (see below) and except for the battery being dead, I'm pretty pleased with the experience. I've added a few pictures below for your pleasure and comments. Let me know what you guys think...

Re: Debating a T60 (Corrected Subject)
Hey, Thanks for the quick reply. I have not seen the laptop yet (I will be bringing it home for a trial run tonight) so I am not sure of the overall shape except for listed damage. What do you mean by KB, and what does it mean if KB and bezel have shiny spots? I have also been able to negotiate to 2...

Debating a T60 (WARNING! Pictures Inside)
Hey guys, I currently own a T61 6463-CTO (2GB, T8100, 160GB HD, CDRW/DVD, 15.4'' 1280x800). I have owned it for about a year and a half and it has been amazing to me so far. Back when I bought it off the Lenovo website, the T400 had just been introduced and I got it for 650 USD + tax etc, a good dea...

Re: T60 fingerprint reader: creeping loss of sensitivity
I had similar symptoms and eventually my fingerprint reader just stopped working. Now the login screen simply states "Please connect your fingerprint reader." I'm gona call Lenovo coz its still under warranty, but pretty annoying.

Re: are all palm rests created equal?
Hey,
I have a T40 and a T61. The T61, which I received only recently, clearly gets more sweat/heat imprints. Its actually sort of annoying, and I prefer the T40 quite a bit more just because of this.

Battery Life
Hey, So... Using my computer on `MAXIMUM BATTERY LIFE`and Battery Stretch activated, I can push approximately 6.5-7 hours, reading documents, email, pdfs etc (i usually have about 20 different files open at any time along with 5-10 different taskbar icons). I`ve got to say this blows my older Inspir...

Keyboard
Thanks for the reply. I was beginning to be worried. However, my keyboard problem persists, and it`s not because of a foreign keyboard installed (i checked). It seems to be an on and off issue as well, because sometimes its all fine.

Battery Maintenance Problems on T61
Hey, I recently updated my thinkpad software, and it turned all vistaish from the nice old clean look. No matter, I figured, since atleast all the functionality still existed. Apparently I was wrong. I used to have my battery maintenance set so it charged when below 40% and stopped at 90%. Now, some...

T6x on Lenovo Website
Hey They discontinued selling them through their main website either Last friday or the friday before that. You can still find them in the Outlet store but they are not customizable anymore. The T400/T500 are the new successors, though the new keyboards are nowhere as good as the older trusted ones....

T61 Typical Battery Lifes
Hey, I'm a new T61 owner (well technically it doesn't arrive till Monday) and this is my first post on the forum. I'm looking to order another battery, either from lenovo, or the marketplace here. However, I'm in sort of a conundrum as explained below. After doing much reading on the thinkpads and o...
