T42 is dead

My dearly beloved T42 won't switch on. I switched it off yesterday evening, left it with battery (60% charged) and charger connected and today it is completely dead. No lights, and neither battery nor a/c adapter can be used to switch it on. I have checked all fuses on the famous fuse map (except f1...

How does the flexview screen affect battery life? Is the difference noticeable?

Re: -- T43p -- short battery life with a new battery?

I think you should check up on that wattage. My T42 would run 5 hrs on a 6-cell, so yours should theoretically be much more than that. Try to stop all programs, remove all usb devices (also the dvd drive), switch off the wireless and turn screen to lowest brigthness. At this point wattage should be ...

Re: how to revive a destroyed li-ion battery due to overdischarg

Have you tried to charge it for some hours? Sometimes it needs a longer time to begin charging. Is the battery-LED on?

Re: Best battery

The 78Wh battery is for the T6x series. T43 is 48/72 and the older ones were 44/66 I bought a 52Wh 6 cell battery from freshbattery (www.freshbattery.com) . It looks very promising on their homepage, but so far it has been a big disappointment. They have VERY slow customer service, and the battery c...

Re: X61s sound card

zebs, depends on what you'll use it for; pro audio recording or surround? I have an E-MU 1616m with pc-card. Sound quality is top pro but without the breakout box, you only have one output. Alternatively there's the Creative Audigy 2 ZS pcmcia haven't tried it, but it looks much more portable than t...

Re: Slow boot when using only ultrabay SATA HD in T42

That's what i guessed.. :( I was hoping someone had done a hacked bios that would allow me to change this. I thought about doing this myself, but it's gonna be too time consuming as I don't have a big experience in this.

So did anybody try the MTRON mobi 3000 in their T4x?

Re: Slow boot when using only ultrabay SATA HD in T42

bump! no one here has tried the same? Check my benchmarks below. It's the easiest way to a huge boost in HD space and performance: Stock T42 HD HD Tune: TOSHIBA MK4026GAX Benchmark Transfer Rate Minimum : 13.7 MB/sec Transfer Rate Maximum : 34.5 MB/sec Transfer Rate Average : 28.3 MB/sec Access Time...

Slow boot when using only ultrabay SATA HD in T42

I'm trying to run my T42 with only a Seagate 320G SATA drive in the ultrabay and no drive in the HD-slot (to save the weight). Windows boots fine, but my problem is that the startup hangs for some 30 seconds on the BIOS screen. I've tried all kinds of tricks in the BIOS, but it's as if the BIOS is s...
