+ optional FireWire port on some R52s. To use it in T43/p body you have to do a little chassis mod.

Re: best mod T43p max ?

Pentium M 780 + 2x 1GB 533MHz RAM in dual channel mode + bridged Marvell chip + internal SSD on SATA wires + Lexar ExpressCard SSD for Windows ReadyBoost. This would be the most safety & powerful configuration for T43p. For this investment you can probably buy an equipped T61p or T400 so consider th...

Re: Why the difference-Chrome vs IE

dr_st: more efficient code != using less memory automatically. Better to use more memory and do less swap operations than to use less memory and swap each time a new tab is opened... at least it is better for user's experience to feel the system more dynamic. And the RAM is cheap nowadays - who care...

Re: Why the difference-Chrome vs IE

Internet Explorer is proprietary, closed-source application so it is hard to be diagnosed what is causing the HDD clicking. But you can be sure in one thing: Chrome/Chromium browser has more efficient open-source code and uses less of system resources than IE. My recommendation is: don't use IE if y...

Thanks.

T43p will not suspend to RAM when lid closed

Hi, my T43p will not suspend to RAM when LCD lid is closed. I can remember that this worked recently without any problems. If I press the micro button near the Esc key, LCD will power off but the laptop remains on. Only way how can I force it to suspend to RAM is to press Fn + F4 or suspend it manua...

LCD question

I have Dell Latitude D520 with 15" SXGA+ LCD display for parts (mobo is bad). Is it possible to fit this LCD into 15" T43 lid and will it work? Reason for that: my current IPS display tends to yellowing when the Dell's LCD is almost brand new and the white color there is really white. My T43 current...

I think it could be a problem of quiet old GPU driver - I use Vista driver w...

Re: Any updates to solving the T43 fan pulsing problem?

I've had pulsing fan issue on T43p. The problem was represented by little and very short fan acceleration each ~5 seconds. I've solved the issue by using long T42p fan - no annoying sound and no pulsing problem from that time. Hope this helps.

I have been working with my T43p today with quiet heavy performance load.
