Ah, soooory. You mean that when you just want to access a bookmark, it's happening. :? Yeah, I thought that was pretty clear from my original post (viz., "...when I try to open the 'Bookmarks' menu on the top of the screen to select a Bookmark..."). Then I'm not sure. I fixed on the annoyance of th...

Firefox 3.0.1: Accidentally Adding Bookmark Problem
Hi, This problem is driving me absolutely nuts. It's happening with Firefox 3.0.1 on my ThinkPad as well as my wife's. I can't find anything about it anywhere Firefox-related, which leads me to believe that it might have to do with the way that Firefox interacts with ThinkPads in particular. Here's ...

Well as you say you can try it and see how it sounds. But all digital outs are not at all the same: do some Googling about jitter . S/PDIF outs from computers generally have terribly high jitter, and thus aren't generally considered appropriate for audiophile setups. (Unless you have a jitter-immune...

I did correction with an Eye-One Display 2 and the difference is dramatic. It's kind of pricey to buy, can I borrow yours? :) Seriously, the product is advertised as allowing you to use it on multiple systems. Find a bunch of friends and chip in, I really think that it's one of the best investments...

T61p 14.1" Just Works
Hi, I posted earlier about my problems with a T60p, and with tech support trying to get the problems fixed. I was having the Memory Parity blue screens, as well as blue screens for athr.sys. I returned the system and got a 14.1" T61p instead. I'm posting to say that the thing just works. People tend...

Photoshop: ThinkPad Monitor Profile Defective
Not sure where exactly to post this, but here goes: I have a new 14.1" T61p running Vista, and I have Photoshop CS3. When Photoshop starts, it tells me "The Monitor Profile 'Lenovo Thinkpad LCD Monitor' appears to be defective. Please rerun your monitor calibration software." I have options to "Igno...

Yes, WSXGA+ is lower resolution than WUXGA. But for many people, myself included, higher resolution, after a point, is undesirable, as text will be too small unless Windows' DPI scaling feature is used, which isn't so great. There is much discussion about this issue. If the resolution is too high, ...

Well, I've calmed down a bit since my original post. I decided not to return the T60p. For whatever reason it's behaving fairly well lately, and I really don't want to give up the FlexView display... However: the warranty issue still isn't resolved. My warranty is still showing as 1 year depot servi...

Scaling fonts might have other unexpected (or expected, if you've previously dealt with them before) problems in XP (and even Vista, if reports are to be believed) such as blockifying bitmaps, but readability of the text is not one such problem. The small/unreadable text argument of people who pref...

Of course this is a matter of personal taste, but you couldn't pay me to use WUXGA on a 15.4" display. Text is simply too small. Actually, I do disagree with this, as I have said on many occasions . ;) Software will eventually get better and better to the point where it is completely resolution-ind...

Of course this is a matter of personal taste, but you couldn't pay me to use WUXGA on a 15.4" display. Text is simply too small. Yes, Vista has the ability to do DPI scaling, and yes, it's better than XP's implementation; but it's still not usable, IMHO. (Too often you'll find text extending outside...

There's been a problem for almost a year now with the non-diskette BIOS updates for T and R machines not running; the DOS updater never runs, Windows just boots as normal. dagordon, Sorry for all the problems you had. It would really help if we knew the country/city you are located in. Returning T60p, Furious with Lenovo/IBM
I've been a devoted ThinkPad user for I think 8 years now, but I'm honestly considering jumping ship. I had a T60p 2613-CTO delivered a little over a week ago. Even after updating all of the drivers and software, I'm still occasionally getting a Memory Parity Error blue screen, and my wireless is fl...

The T60p Flexview is still very much available on lenovo's US site. Oh right! I forgot about the 15" SXGA+ models! I was only thinking about the UXGA models, which had been discontinued for many months. So, OP, if you don't mind having only 1400x1050 on a 15.0" screen (I personally would mind), you...

dagordon, i agree with you about how serious and infuriating the problem is. On the other hand, we might want to keep in mind a couple of things. I don't think I can adequately describe just how infuriating this problem is. A couple of days ago I noticed the Add/Remove Programs problem. Yikes. The Software Installer was a brilliant utility. What happened? Version 3.50.0603, released yesterday. 1. It's finding what it thinks is a new version of Sonic DLA from the Internet: version 5.2 build 09a. It sees version 5.2.0 as installed, and thinks that's older. a) The Software Installer c...
