Replacement screw sets for T61 or any T-series from T30 series onward

Any recommendations for replacement screw sets for T-series? I need some mostly for some T61s but for anything for T30 thru T/W 530 would be useful. Are any of those replacement screw sets on amazon any good? are there any to steer clear of? Thanks. I do remember the HMMs always warning the service ...

PM'd on the remaining T61s and the T500. I'd definitely work on these bad boys.

Re: Bricked BIOS

I've never had a problem with the 4GB RAM modules for the T61, but I've only used then in 5 systems. The repeated insert / remove of modules should help with the RAM errors. Those contacts on the motherboards are not gold plated like the RAM modules are. Did you know that all the gold, silver, coppe...

Re: DVD region change on Serial Ultrabay Enhanced DVD

If I remember correctly, the region change affects the DVD drive itself. I remember getting one that was for zone 2 and I changed it to 1 and it showed a couple greyed out "available changes" so, yes you should be able to change to what you want, it changed the DVD drive itself and you only have lik...

Re: Incompatibility by design: 170W vs 135W vs 90W. Why?

I just said screw it and bought 2 extra 170W AC adapters. They stay with the series 3 docks and the original 170W goes where the W530 goes.

And I shaved off the protrusions inside all the connectors so they can all fit the T530 and all the T61s & W500s.

Re: WTB: T60, T61 Ultrabay Slim SATA HDD/SSD Adapter FRU 40Y8725

I have "aftermarket" HDD adapters that fit T61, T60, T40 series, x40, x50, x60 etc and take a SATA drive. They are like the original Lenovo ones but do not have the plastic tab that prevents one from putting them in a T40 series. I also have some Original IBM HDD adapter trays that take PATA drives ...

Re: Identifying old IBM ThinkPad messenger bag/case

I had a real nice all leather Targus briefcase style. I still have it, but I prefer a rolling one for trips nowadays. I have a rolling one (burgundy leather) for week or longer trips, otherwise I have a newer nice burgundy / coffee colored case for current daily use.

Strictly leather cases for me.

I have never even heard of "killer" Ethernet adapters - or is is just a SW add-on to an existing Ethernet card? Re: WD MyBook NAS global attack - wiped drives

Hi, I didn't lose any data or files. Yeah the MBL was wiped, but that was one of only 6 backups, so once I reset it and got one of my PWs back on. I was able to use it. But I took it off my LAN and powered it off because WD has not corrected the vulnerability (supposedly two lines of code can fix it...

WD MyBook NAS global attack - wiped drives

Anyone still using a WD MyBook Live NAS? Last week a global attack wiped thousands of the NAS drives and reset the password to whatever. I used one - and it got wiped and the PW changed. link: https://community.wd.com/c/wd-legacy-products/my-book-live/50 Over 970 posts on the main thread. The kicker...

Apply some intelligence here. Any 1980s (or earlier) statement from the ruskies can be discounted 100%. This massacre was committed by the soviets, and it is only the tip of the iceberg with regards to what the soviets did to the Poles. It doesn't excuse the nazis from what they did, but stalin was...

The REAL fuse that lit the fire of war inn the middle east was the euro-meddling in the region in the aftermath of WW1 and the broken promises to the arabs. Either you know your history or you don't. It'a a funny thing is history... not static like some people think.... For example it was a fact ac...

I know that I was right 15 months ago. I feel like it's more important to be right somewhere closer to now. No, being right earlier is always better. That way you don't compound errors. And, when it comes to being right, you can rule out the cdc and faustian, who haven't been right from the beginni...
