Just one thing you need to make sure.. I thought that all 5.25 external enclosure will work with any internal DVD burner. But, it didn't. When you buy it, I guess prolific chipset would be the best in term of compatibility. I had compatibility and transfer rate problems with cypress chipset USB 2.0 ...

As far as I know, DVD-R has more compatible with older DVD-ROM.. And I believe that the multi-burner can handle DVD+R also.

A little bit complicated.. DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM... ETC..
But, that multiburner would do its job with most DVD formats except dual layer and DVD-RAM..

I realized that t42 2378fvu's fan was always on at lower rpm. I couldn't hear before I get close to the keyboard.. It was very silent to me.

Now, I have to decide..

Well.. That means it's not that so bad. In the library, it's very silent usually :D . Probably it would be fine in most circumstances.. I'm now considering T42 2373m3u (I didn't know this has 7200rpm hdd) or T43 266875u.. My preference is still T42, but the price of T43 becomes more attractive, I th...

T42 vs. T43

I read many posts. I got T42 2378FVU and am returning it due to dead pixel in the middle of LCD. Now I really wonder if T43 is really noisy. Some users reported it's noisy. However, it seems to me that some other T43 users do not complain about that. Definitely, the performance of T43 will be better...

I'm having the same experience. I received 2378FVU, but the dead pixel is located in the middle of LCD, 1.5 inches from the top. It's very noticeable and annoying. However, the customer service says that I have to pay for the shipping because the dead pixels are not more than 7 which is their policy...

I just checked Samsung website (Korean one). Dell X1 looks the same with Samsung Q30 which is lightest among 12.1" (1280x768) wide screen models to date. It does not have any fan :D , so it should be very quiet. CF and SD slots are included, but PCMCIA slot doesn't exist. 2 USB 2.0, 1 firewire.. 1.8...

It seems to be complicated.. :D Frankly, I've been thinking about that kind of configuration.. If you need to carry CD or DVD-ROM, it may not be a good idea to carry ultrabase. Get USB CD. It would be much easier to carry it. Then, think about configuration.. Place mini-dock or replicator in your ho...

I don't know much about the difference between t42 and t43.. However, if you plan to carry it daily, I think 14" would be good choice or 12" laptop (+ external LCD in your home) would be even better. If you have your office in school, 14" or 15" inches wouldn't be critical.. I'm a graduate student a...

www.ibm.com/businesscenter/amex www.ibm.com/businesscenter/visa You will find the discounted price and special offers.... So, you think T43 would be better deal.. However, I'm a little sensitive to noise. I've changed stock CPU fan and case fans in my desktop to keep it silent (Silent fans cost a lo...

As far as I know, X30/X31/ do not support DVI through mini-dock or port replicator II although dock and replicator have DVI port. I guess X32 would not support DVI through dock or rep, but I'm not sure..

Does anybody clarify this point ?

Thanks.

2378FVU (T42) vs. 26694DU (T43)

Please help me with decision.. I'm not sure about T43. I've read that some users reported fan noise problems of T43.. Here are highlights 2378FVU (T42) by AMEX or VISA - IBM ThinkPad T42 2378 - Pentium M 735 1.7GHz - Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional - Graphics ATI mobility Radeon 9600 64MB - RAM ...
