Just plugged in a 512mb stick. Performance has been improved dramatically. Boot up time is still not up to my liking. Now it is time for a backpack. Anyone has the High Sierra magnum backpack? I would like to see a real life picture of that bag. It appeals aesthetically the most to me. http://www.eb...

Has anyone come across the High Sierra Magnum backpack? Personally, I think it is the most stylish backpack I have ever seen. The price is reasonable too: http://www.ebags.com/high_sierra/magnum/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=52832 I am thinking of getting one for myself. I am just not sure how bi...

I uninstalled Nortorn AV then installed Norton Internet Security 2005. It dragged the computer's performance down considerably when it is run in the background. I have to have some kind of internet guard to protect me against malicious viruses. I have just bought a 512mb of ram from a local auction ...

SLOW - My new T42???

Hi guys. Just got a my new T42 with fingerprint reader. I love it from the intial use. By the way, the system comes with 256mb of memory. It is very slow during normal use. I am suspecting the cause is the deficit of memory because I hear the harddrive spinning hard out when I open multiple tasks. B...

Hi Egibbs. Another error occurs when I boot up the computer today "Error 0187: EAIA data access error. The access to EERROM has failed" Ibm support web site says it is the fault of the system board. I called up IBM and was given a reference number to enclose when I send the laptop to the warranty se...

Its not that I am against IBM's reputation. I sure know the risk associated with buying a used laptop. But I had huge credibility in IBM before, up to the extent that I assumed a used IBM laptop would be as good as a brand new one of the other brands. Well that partly explains why I bought the 1st s...

Yes it does match, however there are two type numbers one is 2373 and one is 2672 - C3H (this one matches with the BIOS number).

I shut down the computer a while ago, when I turned it back on, the problem 1 occured again :-/.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

"Error 0182: Bad CRC2" with my IBM T42, please hel

Hi all. I have heard the reputation of IBM's laptop time over time. Recently, I have decided to buy a second hand IBM Thinkpad T42. Everything was running just fine until this week. I sometimes have the message like this when I boot up the computer "Error 0182: Bad CRC2, Enter BIOS setup and load se...
