Re: So what exactly determines the arbitrary RAM limits on a MB?
It was getting interesting, and the topic creator got exactly to the question I had... And then the thread got locked. :( I guess I just never have understood why an artificial RAM limitation exists on a motherboard; if a SODIMM of the correct size exists, it just is kind of baffling that the comput...

So what exactly determines the arbitrary RAM limits on a MB?
I've been poppling around this forum, and others like it, and I keep noticing something- Whenever RAM limitations are mentioned, people simply shrug that XXXGB is all that this motherboard or that motherboard will "recognize". So I understand the limitations of a 32-bit processor- they can't physica...

4GB RAM stick in an R52?
Good morning all. I had some extra cash on hand after deciding not to get a bluray drive for my R52 and I happened upon a curious site that is advertising, specifically for the R52, a 4GB RAM chip. Can the R52 even handle more than 2GB? Here is the site I found it at- http://www.universalmemory.com/...

Re: R52 compatible bluray drive?
Yes, you are correct on this point. The only bluray player I own is a PS3 (picked it up at a sale for $150 a while back). The wife loves it so I wanted to make her happy by finding one she could take with her.Neil wrote:Unless, of course, you don't have a computer with a Blu-Ray drive at home either.

Re: R52 compatible bluray drive?
Well blargh, I guess that nixes the idea of using this as a little bluray player at the beach.
Such a shame, it seems like a lovely machine for the $55 it cost.
Thank you for all your help.

Re: R52 compatible bluray drive?
Thank you so much for the reply! I was primarily interested in the drive for watching movies. High resolution isn't a priority- I would most likely shunt the resolution down to something around 640x480 while watching them. More of a priority is compatibility; my wife replaced her DVD collection at h...

R52 compatible bluray drive?
Hi, I've just bought an R52 and I'm looking at putting a bluray drive into its UltraBay Enhanced bay. However, I keep finding conflicting information about compatibility. I've found a drive with the model number of 43N3200. Does anyone know if this will be compatible with the bay? Thanks in advance!
