Re: Looking to buy a IBM ThinkPad 700T
I've been having trouble finding much of anything on it. And what's this marketplace you mentioned? Is that some specific place or just anywhere?

Re: Looking to buy a IBM ThinkPad 700T
Wow that is cool! Two things; Can you tell me exactly what kind of RAM is in your system? According to the model number mine had 8MB, but it's clearly not ICDRAM. I've had some trouble with that if you've read above. And could you send me a copy of the floppies in the picture? (upload and send me a l...

Re: Looking to buy a IBM ThinkPad 700T
This doesn't make any sense here, I finally found a long lost page of specs for the 700T. I have Model 002.; http://ps-2.kev009.com/ohlandl/2524/2521.html According to it, my system would have had an 8MB DRAM card, which I'm assuming is ICDRAM since that is the only type of slot available. Well, as ...

Re: Looking to buy a IBM ThinkPad 700T
I just got my parts in from Ebay today, a 16MB ICDRAM card, and a CF to 2.5" IDE adapter. The adapter should work fine, but I'm having an issue with the RAM. It appears as if there is an extra notch that isn't letting me insert it all the way that I didn't notice before. Clearly this tablet didn't u...

Re: Looking to buy a IBM ThinkPad 700T
Well I'm glad to see it will at least fit. The double hole is probably so you can put the pen in the base no matter how you hold it. I'll try to answer your last post. I don't know exactly what the power connector looks like on a 710T (nor do I own a T20 or R50), but the ac adapter I use on my 700T ...

Re: Looking to buy a IBM ThinkPad 700T
Okay, I might just try to mod the opening so an X series pen would work. It appears trying to track down a pen of the correct size might be more trouble than its worth. In my last message when I said T series I meant like the 700T, not the T430 for example. Sorry for any confusion. I might try to co...

Re: Looking to buy a IBM ThinkPad 700T
Thanks but do you know what models would have a pen about that size? (like 710T and 730T) The X series pens must be very close because from a picture it looks to be the correct size but maybe not. That's all I really see on Ebay, nothing from the T series, so maybe I can modify the holder so the X s...

Re: Looking to buy a IBM ThinkPad 700T
Do you know what ThinkPad pens will fit in the slot? This isn't a bid deal if it won't fit but it would be easier to keep track of the pen if it did.

Re: Looking to buy a IBM ThinkPad 700T
Well thanks for the links derick. Although I'm not interested in buying, I at least know what the screen display looks like. I found some RAM for my 700t, a 16mb ICDRAM for about $13. I think that's enough for Windows 95 but I might just stick with Windows 3.1. The one thing I'm missing is the pen. ...

Re: Looking to buy a IBM ThinkPad 700T
Yes I am fairly certain of the PCMCIA sled, mostly because of that link I posted a while back. If you watch the video there, the guy in it is holding a tablet just like mine, and even refers to it as the 700t. At one point he pops out the card through the opening. Unfortunately this is literally all...

Re: Looking to buy a IBM ThinkPad 700T
I did a little research on the Windows for Pen Computing. I found someone on this forum site that claims to have a link to download it, but they're worried it's still copyrighted...or something to that effect. Here's the link; http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=96469 I also found an arch...

Re: Looking to buy a IBM ThinkPad 700T
Well the internal slot has to be RAM, because it seems likely that is the cause of the beep. That, and I tried to gently insert a PCMCIA modem and it wouldn't go in all the way because of an extra notch. I had to completely remove the system board to access it, and putting a PCMCIA card slot so far ...

Re: Looking to buy a IBM ThinkPad 700T
Here is a link to a few pics I took, including the inside, in a zip file; https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3m_iIP9fnSCaGlJUEpFWEJXMGc/edit As for the RAM, what would you recommend for the size? The hard drive/flash card would definitely have to be something smaller (physical size) than a standard la...

IBM ThinkPad 700T Info
Hi I recently got a 700t from my uncle and I was looking for a bit of information on it. Sorry I probably should have started a new thread but you guys seem fairly knowledgeable about it. (and I'm NOT interested in selling it) The machine does power up but it's missing both the RAM and flash card (I...
