WTB: ThinkPad 16v charging tip (L16V) *PICS*

Hi all, I am looking for a 16v charging tip for the Lenovo modular power supply, I believe the part no to be L16V. Picture below: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/~/media/Images/MigratedAssets/pc/support/site_wss/6/69082_tips_support_hero.ashx?w=380&h=302 It's only the 16v tip I'm after, pr...

Re: The latest addition, A20m, almost timewarp (picture heav

That's a nice collection you have going there, out of all the laptops that I have owned in the past, the one I'd like to replace most of all is a 3xx series (excluding a 701c, last tracking update states it has left Colorado, destination ?) although the one I had was a 340, a 50MHz 486 with a 9.5" D...

Re: The latest addition, A20m, almost timewarp (picture heav

Nice find! Those recovery CDs are a jewel on their own. :thumbs-UP: Makes me think of my A22m that I've had since I was in high school some 10 years ago. That's a good long time to own a laptop for, if only we didn't go though a financial crisis a while back, I sold off about 20 old Thinkpads (main...

Re: The latest addition, A20m, almost timewarp (picture heav

Nice find, very sweet you got installation disks and manuals to go with them. Almost uneeded nowdays but cool to keep. Nice photos as well. 8) Gotta love that screen bezel. Those installation disks and manuals truly make it a good find, I haven't even got them for my X220. Speaking of which here's ...

I know, except for the odd freebie Thinkpad that I have acquired, this one has to be one of the cheapest as well

The latest addition, A20m, almost timewarp (picture heavy)

Hi all, I'm relatively new on these forums, but I have had a slightly unhealthy obsession about Thinkpads for a number of years now. I am currently on holiday in Norfolk (UK) and won an auction for a Thinkpad A20m on ebay for the grand price of £10 that was on route. I picked it up on Monday and hav...

Re: Just added a 701c to my collection

Anything else beyond 75Mhz would have been a custom modification. I must have had a modified 701c as I'm pretty sure it had a DX4 at 100MHz, it makes it even more of a shame that it didn't survive. Congratulations on a good looking 701C! I was notified about this one from my eBay search, but with s...

Hmm, that's just solved my issue... I've only had the laptop for 6 months

Thank you for that :D

I've just come back from the BIOS, but can't find any options relating to the BDC.

Bluetooth not found on X220 in Windows or Linux

Hello all, I have an X220 that I use as my main computer, it had a Bluetooth daughter card in it that I couldn't get to register either under Windows or Linux, so assuming it was probably in silicone heaven I purchased another to replace it with, yet it still isn't recognised in either operating sys...

Just added a 701c to my collection

Hello all, I've had a thing about the Thinkpad 701c for years now as it was the first laptop I ever owned, I acquired my original one back in 1999/2000 when I was still at school and loved it, that laptop was the one that started my fascination with IBM and the Thinkpad range. Unfortunately my prize...

Re: Power button for T20 with no keyboard

Update:

I can confirm that shorting pin 19 with ground works as a power button with the keyboard removed. It's a very small area so will be testing my soldering skills quite a bit once the software and holiday are out of the way.

Thank you
Jim

Re: Power button for T20 with no keyboard

Hello,

Sorry, I'm waffling on off the point (something I have a habit of doing).

I haven't tried pin 19 on the keyboard connector yet, I will pull the unit apart in the morning and give it a go. My last post was referring to a method that apparently works on the T400 series.

Cheers

Re: Power button for T20 with no keyboard

Hello, thank you for that advice. It looks like my soldering skills will be put to the test with getting a wire onto pin 19. I read through the hack on the T400 series laptop and got excited when I read the part about the T400 powering on when connected to the power and the keyboard removed. Unfortu...

Power button for T20 with no keyboard *PIC*

Hello, I am working on a project to create a wall mounted Jukebox using one of my old T20's that has a shockingly bad case. When the project is complete the keyboard will be removed to save space as the unit will be fitted into a photo frame. Is there a way to power on a T20 without a keyboard (as t...
