Is the T60 on the left a widescreen? The sides where the keyboards look to be too think for a 15" screen, but them I'm looking at my Z60m as a reference and a 15" T43, so I could be wrong.

Does the stock IBM warranty provide international cover? I'm not sure. Their phone # is 800-334-9693. Press 1 and 1 again. I have to admit that when I got my Z60m from Thinkpadwold, I was really impressed. The laptop looked new and the battery had only been cycled twice. Then a few days before my 6...

I'm another proud owner of a Z60m. :D My previous laptop was a X22 so this was quite a jump. I love the laptop and the only thing that I can think of that I don't like about it is the amber ThinkLight. Why they went from the white ThinkLight to amber is beyond me. I'm not sure what ANDS means by no ...

Problems with Z60 battery?
On my Z60m (2529-EAU) I think I've got a problem with my battery. I mainly use the laptop plugged in with the AC adapter but yesterday I went and tried to power up with just the battery and it wouldn't power up. Initially I thought it was the power button, but when I plug in the AC adapter, it power...

You can get the Hardware Maintenance Manual from here - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-61364 Looking through the manual, yours does indeed come with the 7200rpm 100GB drive. There are other configurations that have this drive as well. Mine came w...

The on-site experiences that I've been part of have been great. At work where I'm one of the PC Technicians I've had one motherboard replaced for a T42 and one for a T43 and both were replaced on-site within 24 hours after I called them in. Also, I had a user who broke a key on their keyboard on the...

Ah yes, wine and laptops don't mix too well (or any liquid for that matter). I too had to find out the hard way... 1. The T40 memory is DDR (PC2700) while the memory in the Z60 series is DDR2 (either PC2-4200 or PC2-5300). So the memory in the T40 won't work in the Z60. 2. I'm pretty sure that...

Z61 SIM Card Slots
Looking at the HMM for the new Z61 series (e/m/p/t) I had noticed that the laptops have a SIM card slot?!!? What's this all about? The Z60 series don't have this.
Now I'm really curious...

Re: PC2-4200?
Just ignore me...it's the chipset in the z60 that limits the DDR speeds. I wonder why Lenovo doesn't just sell it with PC2-3200 then, since thats as fast as it can run. Where did you hear that? The T43 and the Z60 share the same tpe of memory and I don't think the Z Series has them bandwidth limite...

Z60m Card Reader
Is the 3-in-1 card reader SDHC (SD 2.0) compliant? I was looking into getting a SDHC card and was wondering if my Z60m would support it.
Thanks.

I've got a user at work that's having problems with his USB ports on his T42 laptop (2378-FZU). He went to plug in an external hard drive and when he did the laptop suddenly powered down. Questions on getting a T43
I'm looking to purchase a T43 and there's one thing I'm not sure on which to get - the 14" SXGA+ or the 15" SXGA+ screens. I've worked with ThinkPad's at work and most of them have been just the 15" XGA screens, although lately it's been the 15" SXGA+ screens. I really love the screen resolution and...

Adding Fingerprint reader to T43?
I'm looking at getting a T43 that's on eBay but it doesn't have a Fingerprint Reader, and I was wondering how hard it would be to replace the palmrest and install a new one with the reader built in. I would think the hardest thing to do would be actually finding the part. Would the BIOS recognize th...

About a month or two ago a remote user for where I work had issues with his T43 (2686-DJU) and what was happening is that when he goes to power up the laptop, the battery and power lights are on but nothing happens.
