Re: T61 w/second HDD in Ultrabay question

Thank you for the reply. I guess my whole issue is this... I run PLEX on my T61 and use it to locally stream to my ROKU. I use it daily and a lot. What kind of performance issues should I expect? I would be keeping my movies and tv shows on the HDD in the ultrabay and running PLEX off the SSD when I...

T61 w/second HDD in Ultrabay question

Hello ThinkFolks. I recently bought a 7200rpm 320GB SATA II HDD to put in the also recently bought HDD Ultrabay caddy. Although the caddy states SATA on it from what I have come to understand is that the UltraBay is PATA only in a T61 and the drive will run at PATA speeds. My main goal is to get a S...

My apologies!! I will remember that for future posts. $30 includes shipping to Continental US.

FS: 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-5300/667MHz

Hey Thinkfolks, I have 2X2GB SODIMMS of DDR2 PC2-5300 that I just took out of my T61 (upgraded to 8GB pc2-6400). I would rather sell them here than on ebay. If you are in need just make me an offer. I'll also throw in a 1GB pc2-5300 Samsung SODIMM and a *old* Intel WM3945ABG card that I took out and...

Re: T61 memory

I just bought 8GB DDR2 6400 for my T61 for $98 total (used) on Ebay. Runs great and I definitely notice a difference. As was stated above you just have to watch the prices for a while and see what they are being sold for. The stickers on my DIMM's say AXIOM but the chips are stamped Micron and I hav...

WTB: 8gb (2x4gb) DDR2 PC2-5300 or PC2-6400 200 pin SODIMM for T61

Hello all. Looking to give my T61 all she's got. If anyone has 8gb (2x4gb) sticks of ddr2 5300 or 6400 they would like to part with I would be interested in what you would like for them. I'm trying to keep this old girl going for as long as I can (she runs like a champ). Paying retail for the memory...

Re: Is Windows 7 the Last True Windows?

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate running Classic Shell. Absolutely love it!! Looks like it's old and runs like it's supposed to!! Everything, including menu's looks and feels like Late Win98/Early XP. It also works for Win8/8.1 and 10 (have not tried myself). Here is a link to what my desktop and men...

Re: Anybody got Intel AC-7260HMW + BlueTooth going on T61?

Well after reading your post back in 2011: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=100832 and other posts about breaking off clips left and right I decided to just get a USB adapter. I don't use BT a lot so I should be ok using USB adapter. Thanks for the info!!

Re: Anybody got Intel AC-7260HMW + BlueTooth going on T61?

I think you know allready - you (anybody) can use BT3 and BT4 modules from x20 and x30 series of thinkpads in 60 / 61 series. It's as simple as plug and play (but needed to open screen case). Is it worth it to get the modules from the x20/30 series or just use a cheap BT4 USB dongle? I have a T61 w...
