Re: Got myself a ThinkPad 600E with broken hinges, can I repair old hinges instead of buying new ones?

A few years back, I tightened the hinges on a 600X and the more I used it, the tighter they got then they just snapped and now I can only use it if the lid is resting on the wall or some books. I actually made some 3D printed hinges. They were both extremely tight and durable. Also no need for tigh...

If you overtighen them, youll need to runover the thinkpad to close it :) Its a 600E, it will survive.

Re: Won't remember WiFi Password

I have a barely used Lenovo T530 that I'm letting my wife use and I'm noticing that for some reason when we connect to our WiFi.... the laptop is not automatically remembering the password. Does anyone know of any settings that could resolve this and how to get to them? This is an operating system ...

How much worse is Samsung v. LG and Sharp for WUXGA??

Ok, I know that the Samsung is worse than the LG and Sharp is cheap and beautiful, as RealBlackStuff has made clear. I've seen T61p's with supposedly Samsung panels but I can't see any noticeable difference. Can you not see the difference through the camera? Does anyone have a Samsung panel,LG panel...

BTW Khipata, you should probably invest in a better camera of any sort. Atleast to me, the machines look in worse shape than they actually are.

Its like if you take a picture of a shiny object in the shade, it doesnt look good in the pictures.

Ha, look at my signature. Am I guilty, not at all. Most arent worth much. Its not like im keeping a whole lot from the world. Are XGA 14" T42s rare? I didnt think so. Ok, I saw the SLAQD CPU that TuuS uses in the R500 he sells. Does SLAQD stand for something? What is the difference between that and a T9900 or X9100?

Re: Thinkpadders Rejoice (*LARGE PICS*)

I think this should be called the Thinkpad Retromod. If you can call a 70 corvette with a new fancy engine a 70 corvette, because it is still a sports car that does what its intended purpose. Same with thinkpads. Without a keyboard and square lcd, is it still a Thinkpad? Really, if it gets work done...

Re: Thinkpadders Rejoice (*LARGE PICS*)

I'd take the 14" UXGA. I'm a high resolution person but I also like the screen to be physically large. 14" 4:3 is big enough for me, it's like 15.4" just with 83% of the width. I can also live with the 12" physical screen size of my X60s but the XGA resolution really hurts it for me. My preferences...

Re: Thinkpadders Rejoice (*LARGE PICS*)

It will probably be 13.3" - 14.1" anyway. Its just the most popular size of laptop. Anyway TPFanatic, would you rather have XGA 15.0" or UXGA 14.1"? Unless its a stupid resolution size combo like 2048x2048 @ 1.0" 120Hz Kopin Lightning, resolution is more important than size. I'd be thankful they eve...

Re: T61p WSXGA+ v WUXGA?

Well, you never know. True. WUXGA for cheap would be nice, especially with 256mb of VRAM. Only if it's an LG panel. I wouldn't take the Samsung one for free, let alone use it. As for 256MB of VRAM, it makes very little if any difference in A.D 2017. This post brought to you via T61p with an LG 1680...
