Edit: Later -- mariol90 is right, the power level for the Intel 6200 can be adjusted in Vista. With Transmit Power set to Medium, the right side of the palm rest cools by 1C to 2C in conjunction with the "Power Saver" power plan.

To my knowledge, the X series Thinkpads were the only portables that came without a touchpad, or that offered the option of no touchpad.

I used to own a T40; when I sold it, I forgot to include the spare battery in the sale. The spare was used as an alternate when I was travelling.

I don't know the condition of the battery but I do know that it was not abused. I have no means to test it.
