thanks! turns out the power adapter for the x31 and the t42p have the same output, 16V and 4.5A so it looks like i'm safe. thank you, this saves me lots of hassle from having to carry both adapters in my accessories pouch.

i am wondering, will the power adapter for my t42p work on my newly accquired x31? the adapter that came with my x31 is a brick and if i can use my t42p adapter that would be one less thing to carry around.

i have an extra 60gb 7200 rpm harddrive from my t42p. i upgraded to a 100gb drive and burned an image of the old drive onto the new hard drive. my question is: can i put the the original hard drive with the factory image on it into an x31?

just an update....yes, i took the risk and bought it. is it just me or do half the people selling x31's on ebay look sketch? anyways, this seller was very communicative and promptly answered all of my questions. i'll let you know what i think when it arrives.

i have this noise too on my t42p when i'm working in 3D apps like maya or rhino. i am wondering, did they replace the computer for you? is your new machine any quiter? the noise is fairly loud but as long as it doesn't affect performance i might live with it.

something weird happens with my t42p when it first starts up. my quick launch menu is no longer there at startup. apparently this is a common problem but i wasn't able to find a solution even after using search. if anyone has an answer i would really appreciate it.

thanks for the suggestions but i'm not into the booq bags. they are a little too slick looking for my taste. i like the targus because of it's simplicity and understated style.

i just received my t42p today. it came with the 9 cell battery which i would like to trade for a 6cell battery. anyone interested? i would prefer one with a warranty and one that was in good shape, etc,etc...

the reason i ask is because i got a brand new t42p with the large 9 cell battery. i would like to replace it with a 6 cell battery instead. maybe i'll try trading with someone in this group. thanks for the advice.
