There isn't a bios issue for the BMDC, when you connect it the system windows see it and installs it. I prefer using XP SP2 but you can down the Widcomm drivers from IBM as well. According to ThinkWiki the BMDC is an option on some models so it should not be a problem. For the Widcomm software searc...

Built-in Bluetooth & USB Device Not Recognized
I've had this problem off and on and never seem to completely resolve the underlying issue. From time to time, the bluetooth will suddenly stop working and it will pop up with a USB Device Not Recognized message in the systray. Usually disabling the BT from Fn+F5 and re-enabling will resolve the pro...

It might be helpful to have Task Manager running, sorted by CPU and minimized to the systray so you can quickly check it when this happens. Sometimes, but not always, you can check the running processes and see which is take up the CPU cycles during this brief time. For such a delay I would expect a...

He's using a third party WWAN device (Sony Ericsson (SE)), and it has its own software. He'd like to use AC for it, since AC now has support for the Verizon WWAN devices that some Z's and T60s are coming with. But Access Connections, an increasingly bigger pill to swallow for some of us, doesn't wa...

I have a 2wire router/modem setup in bridge mode so that my Xincom dual wan router can make the DSL connection and I frequently have this password error issue. As mentioned the problem is solved by power cycling the DSL modem. This issue has nothing to do with your Thinkpad. When this problem is act...

I'm using a Logitec V270 Bluetooth mouse and have been very happy with it. Whatever Bluetooth mouse you buy, make sure its has some way of definitively switching off the batteries. Both the Kensington and V270 have a real on/off switch, which is great! Cheers, Bill I also have this mouse and love i...

Ultrabay 2000 as 2nd HDD
IBM specs list it as only being capable of something like 36GB. I can't imagine that's true anymore but haven't been able to find out if this was a BIOS, hardware or software limitation. Surely IBM or someone has worked around this problem. Additional insight would be helpful.

I'm 100% positive that the so-called Microsoft Windows XP SP2 drivers are the licensed Widcomm drivers (check out the driver details) so whichever you install you're stick with the widcomm :) I do prefer the UI provided by the "Microsoft" bluetooth stack, even tho it doesn't offer as many features ...

IBM Integrated Bluetooth II & SP2
It seems the MS BT driver for the IBM Integrated Bluetooth II adapter has become corrupt. I tried to find the driver itself but haven't had much luck. I'd really rather not have to reinstall SP2 just to get the drivers. Would anyone happen to know where or how else I might obtain another copy?

You can use any antenna. I didn't have the BT specific antenna so I used one connector on an extra set of wifi antennas that I had. Once connected I have excellent range, better than 30FT with my phone even through concrete walls and such. Even without the antenna as long as my phone sat next to the...

Not sure if this is a IBM or MS issue but whenever I come out of Standy or Hibernate my R40 (2682) will within a couple minutes return to Standby/Hibernate on it's own one time.
